I've been asked a question about the default SMTP address in our Exchange 2010 environment. Due to a branding request, I am researching the feasibility of changing the default Email Address Policy from @company.com to @COMPANY.com, a change from lowercase to uppercase.
Would we change the default policy so that new recipients get @COMPANY.com names and then use a tool like ADModify to update existing users? Would Exchange 2010 even honor the case of the name? And, would this cause any delivery issues by systems rejecting the partially uppercase domain name?
