Hello,
Several months back, our company (Minions) acquired another company (Yoda). Initially, send connectors were established and contacts created to allow mail flow between organizations. A trust was also established. Now, we have been tasked to migrate company Yoda's mailboxes to Minions' Exchange server. The catch - some of Yoda's mailboxes will need to retain the @yoda.com address. Here is the procedure that we have drawn up (this will only need to be done to about 80 mailboxes):
- Export the PST on Yoda's Exchange server
- If the AD object does not already exist on Minions' server, create it.
- Create a new mailbox on Minions' Exchange and then import the PST.
- Change the primary SMTP address of the new mailbox to still be @yoda.com
We have disabled auto-complete to avoid Outlook issues during this process. However, what will happen when we finally decide to turn off Yoda's Exchange server? Will external e-mails be delivered appropriately? What do we need to do to ensure that no mail is lost?
Thank you.
