Good evening,
I am currently migrating from 2007 to 2013 and am in the coexistence stage. The issue that I am hoping to find an answer for is this: Some (not all) of the users that have had their mailbox moved from 2007 to 2013 are now being prompted for authentication. What is interesting is that they will be prompted on say Computer A (W7 with Outlook 2007 all updates) and then I can have them go to Computer B (W7 with Outlook 2007 all updates) and they will not be prompted. By that it would seem that it is not user profile specific, but rather computer specific, yet I cannot say that with 100% confidence yet as I feel that there is something in the settings of Exchange 2013 I set incorrectly somewhere.
I have checked all of the things suggested on the web from the local credential storage to registry settings to reinstalling Outlook, but nothing seems to correct the issue. Now if the user enters their user/pass they connect and are fine until they close/open Outlook again. The other issue that I am seeing is that on these same machines I cannot use Autoconfigure to create their account, rather I have to play this run around game where Exchange resolves as host.domain.com then Outlook cannot open the mailbox, close Outlook, go back to account settings, delete the resolved server, put in domain.com recheck the name and then the server shows in guid format, go to connections, tell Outlook to connect via HTTP, but again still getting prompts for authentication.
At this point I am looking at opening a ticket with MS and shelling out the cost, but was really hoping someone might have that magic bullet that I cannot seem to locate through the almighty Google.
Thanks!
