Split domain setup

Hello,

I am about to set up some Exchange mailboxes on an Exchange 2010 server. Some mailboxes with the same domain name will remain IMAP accounts on another server (Not Exchange). How do i make the mailboxes on Exchange coexist with the other ones (Sending and receiving email from each other)?
