Dear community,
We run a small business and are in the process of setting up and evaluating the Exchange server to replace our current email setup. Windows server and the Exchange server with the MAPILab POP3 Connector snapin are up and running, but we have an issue:
- The emails are downloaded successfully using POP3.
- The emails are sent via the SMTP connector. The log file shows that the send was successful. Btw, this connector was created by the MAPILab deployment wizard, and it is a "receive connector", not a send connector.
- The emails are in the Exchange Queue, due to an error called "451 4.4.0 DNS query failed. The error was: SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain; nonexistent domain"
- The emails remain in the queue for about 8-10 hours and then they are delivered to the designated mailbox.
NOTE: The Exchange server is not a public email server (i.e. it does not send/receive emails from outside). Instead, we use theMAPILab POP3 Connector to download emails from a POP3 server and deliver the emails to an inbox on Exchange. Users then connect to Exchange using Outlook to view the emails.
Any help to sort this out would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Richard
