Exchange 2013 Post Installation and Migration from 2007 Issue - Urgent help required

I have Successfully installed the Exchange 2013 in environment that already have 2007 Exchange. Both Exchange Servers are on Domain Controller as we have less resources.

After Installation I saw in IIS "Default WebSite" with 80 and 443 Ports, and "Exchange Back End" Web with 81 & 444 Ports.

I migrated 2 test Mailboxes from 2007 to 2013 Successfully,

But When i open OWA with Default 80 port the Mailbox not login successfully and through and
Exception type: Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.OwaADObjectNotFoundException

When I Open OWA with Port 81, it logins Successfully.

All the Clients use Default Port 80 to access OWA and Other Exchange Services.

 How to Solve this Issue?

MS Outlook and MS OneDrive cannot connect to exchange server

Hi,

several days ago I lost the connection to exchange. Based on an advise here I created a new Windows user account.

Both, MS Outlook and MS OneDrive connect seamlessly under this account.

Can I somehow fix my original account to reestablish my connection?

Thank you.

Martin

When I compare the two, the original account (which now cannot connect to exchange) has:

- server name written in capital letters.

- Account settings > Change acc. > More settings > Security tab = Logon network security (I have to choose one option, the new working windows account has this blank)

- the original account has also a connection tab, under the new (working windows account) there is no such tab at all)

Mailbox Moves not Round-Robin over two AD Sites

Hi Guys,

I'm at a customers site and they are going through a migration from 2007 > 2013.

At present they've got two EX Server over two AD Sites separating their datacentres. Now, when I'm moving/migrating mailboxes from 2007 into 2013, the moves are not being distributed over the 4 servers. For example, moves will only go to the site that I'm making the moves from.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,

Migrating Public Folders from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013

Hi,

I am just finishing migrating from SBS2011 with Exchange 2010 to Server 2012 Standard with Exchange 2013.

The problem I am having is when I run the New-MigrationBatch script on the 2012 server to begin migration of public folders from the SBS2011 Server.

I have followed this https://technet.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/jj150486(v=exchg.150).aspx

I run this cmdlet New-MigrationBatch -Name PFMigration -SourcePublicFolderDatabase (Get-PublicFolderDatabase -Server sbserver) -CSVData (Get-Content C:\PFMigration\folder-to-mailbox.csv -Encoding Byte) -NotificationEmails

I then get this error

A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'SourcePublicFolderDatabase'.
    + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (:) [New-MigrationBatch], ParameterBindingException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NamedParameterNotFound,New-MigrationBatch
    + PSComputerName        : server2.domain.local

I have tried changing this to direct public folder database name but I still get errors.

Can anybody shed any light as to what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance

Hi. While migrating public folders from Ex2007 to Ex2013 we've met some difficulties that delayed migration on the step when we should lock folders and finalize migration for a month. Is it safe now to resume?

Upgrading from Ex2010 hybrid to Ex2013 hybrid

$

Anyone done this before and have recommended steps?

I want to upgrade from Exchange 2010 in hybrid mode, to Exchange 2013 and then remove the hybrid links. We only need on-premise Exchange to keep our AD in good shape for synchronizing with Office 365 (DirSync no ADFS).

We have moved all of our mailboxes to Office 365 and the hybrid mode is now redundant. I can see why Active Directory needs an on-premise Exchange server, so we'll move to Exchange 2013 on a new box (license without mailboxes, as provided by MS).

  • We have a single domain AD structure with a single Exchange server.
  • Mail flow is cloud only.

Can I simply install Exch 2012 on new server to upgrade AD schema?

Outlook continually asks for password

Exchange 2013 CU2 on Server 2012.  Currently mixed with Exchange 2010.  Moved my test mailbox to 2013 and Outlook 2013 continually pops up asking for the password.

Based on another thread I tried:

Get-OutlookAnywhere -Server emsrv-Exch1.emcc.edu | Set-OutlookAnywhere -ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM

But that did not help.  Manually changing the client from Anonymous to NTLM helped but I don't want to have to manually change everyone's client.  Is there a server setting I can set or maybe a GPO to deploy for the client?

Event ID 3005 The remote name could not be resolved

I'm in the process of migrating from Exchange 2010 to 2013. Everything is going as planned so far except every 20 minutes I get the following event log error on the Exchange 2013 server. I've changed the names but the environment is as follows:

EX2013A = Exchange 2013

EX2010A = Exchange 2010

All virtual directories, autodiscover, etc. use the fqdn of companymail.domain.com.

--------------------------------------------------------

Log Name:      Application
Source:        MSExchange Front End HTTP Proxy
Date:          8/3/2015 4:21:28 PM
Event ID:      3005
Task Category: Core
Level:         Warning
Computer:      EX2013A.domain.com
Description:
[Autodiscover] Marking ClientAccess 2010 server EX2010A.domain.com (https://ex2010a.domain.com/Autodiscover) as unhealthy due to exception: System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved:'mail.domain.com'
   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
   at Microsoft.Exchange.HttpProxy.ProtocolPingStrategyBase.Ping(Uri url)

---------------------------------------------------------

As you can see for some reason it is trying to resolve mail.domain.com instead of companymail.domain.com. I've check all the usual places (virtual directories, autodiscover, etc.) but they are all using the fqdn of companymail.domain.com.

Thoughts?

Hi All,

Im having an issue trying to migrate the Public Folders from our Exchange 2010 server to the new 2013 server.

I have created the sizemap.csv and mailboxes.csv and Im at the point where I need to create the new mailbox.

Im running the command...

New-Mailbox -PublicFolder Mailbox1 -HoldForMigration:$true

however Im getting a permissions issue

Active Directory operation failed on domain controller.contoso.com. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied

Active directory response 00000005: SecErr: DSID-03151E07, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0

Is there anyone that has run into this same issue before and what was the fix.

I have tried using domain administrator account and I have enabled inheritance on my accounts I'm trying with.

any ideas as I'm almost at a loss

Thanks in advance

How to migrate Exchange mailboxes when restructuring a forest active directory

Hi everybody, I hope somebody can help me, because I have not seen information about my question, in every forum talks about to migrate Exchange to Cloud but not to migrate Exchange to a new Forest so my question is "How to migrate Exchange mailboxes when restructuring a forest active directory" obviously with impact zero and continuing access from users that have been moved to the new forest to his mailbox in the old forest until all users have been migrated and procedure to migrate mailboxes, I don´t know why there are not documentation about this, I suspect that I could use ADFS while I am migration with ADMT V3, but I don´t know if the users continue accesing his mailbox, I need some documentation. Thanks in advance.

Get-App returns 403 Error on Exchange 2013 Standard CU8

$

Dear All,

I'm running Exchange Server 2013 CU8 on top of fully patched Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard that right now is co-existing with Exchange 2010 SP3 with the latest rollup on top of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with latest updates too.

I found that when I'm running the "Get-App" cmdlet from EMS on Exchange 2013, I get the following error:

The request failed. The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden. (There's a screenshot too).

Well, I search the web for some answers before posting here and here's what I've done to summarize my activity with no luck of solving this issue:

1. Running Set-OrganizationConfig with all the EWS flags are blank except EWSEnabled which is true.

2. Reset the EWS virtual directories on both Exchange 2010 & 2013 (Reset = Delete & Recreate).

3. Try to replace my internal PKI cert with the 'Microsoft Exchange' Self-signed certificate back and try running the command again with no result (both for Default Web Site & Back End @IIS).

4. Try to surf using Internet Explorer on the server to https://serverhostname/OWA & /ECP & /EWS with no luck getting error - "This page can't be displayed" after entering the FQDN - https://serverhostname.domain.com/OWA & /ECP ... I'm getting to the interface (I mentioned that because I'm thinking this may relate to this issue).

5. Restart :-).

Please assist,

Thanks!
