Sorry but the webpage would only let me post in 2013 exchange.

I have an exchange 2010 server and I get this error message every few hours.

I am not sure how to fix it.  I have seen some posts about using ADS Edit, but I never can find the first routing group in there.
Thoughts?

Move mailbox to Exchange 2013 CU1 extremely slow!!!!

Hi All

I am currently moving exchange 2007 sp3 mailboxes to exchange 2013 cu1.

But the speed of moving mailbox is extremely slow.

I saw few posts people's having the same issue.

I am currently moving 3 very small mailboxes (10-30mb), and it's takeing a long time.

I've increased my exchange resources from 1 x 4 core to 2 x 4 core, plus 16GB ram. We only have 60 mailboxes.

I am wondering if anyone else having the same issue?

Any solution from microsoft?

Thanks a lot!

Exchange Server is unable to deliver Oracle Payslips for External Users

Dear All,

I have an Exchange Server running in my organization and is successfully serving to internal users. By using one of the POP3 tool i am successfully receiving external user emails to Exchange Server as well. But i have few confusions and problems

1. I have oracle based payslip system that is unable to send payslip to those who have their emails on yahoo and hotmail but it successfully sends to all who are confiigured with exchange server. How to resolve this???

2. Second issue is why we need to use POP3 external tools to setup with Exchange in order to handly pop3 mails.?? why exchange do not have such functionality???

3. Lastly, I have implemented One Exchange Server along with its DAG as high availability. for external users we have configured our ms record entries to the domain hosting company and whenever they have issue in their firewall they block exchange public ip addresses and our external email are then blocked. What is the recommended Exchange Scenario in this regards???

Thanks

Regards

Hello all,

i am seaching for a way to completely remove exchange 2013 from server 2012, manualy.

A crack occurs while installing Exchange 2013, then it was impossible to remove/repair using setup.

I have foud posts explaining how to, but none goes far enough to give me ability to clean reinstall xchange.

- Ad cleaned

- registry cleaned (supposed to be complete)

- folders cleaned (also supposed to)

- no particular services still in function.

- impossible to format Windows server.

thanks all..

Gmail to Exchange 2013 Migration Replying to pre-migration email

Hi all,

Before you start pointing me at X.500 addresses and legacy exchange DN's, save your breathe, it will not help.

We are about to start migrating from corporate google apps through to a locally hosted Exchange 2013 environment and as a first try i am trying to migrate my mailbox.  Well i thought it would just be a case of taking the PST that the google sync app creates and a bit of dragging and dropping and voila! well no such luck.

When I reply to any emails that are pre-migration (i.e from the gamil PST) I get an NDR straight away which is below

Received: from EX1.mydomain.local (192.168.1.5) by EX1.mydomain.local
 (192.168.1.5) with Microsoft SMTP Server (TLS) id 15.0.516.32; Wed, 21 Aug
 2013 17:21:50 +1000
Received: from EX1.Mydomain.local ([::1]) by EX1.Mydomain.local ([::1]) with
 mapi id 15.00.0516.029; Wed, 21 Aug 2013 17:21:50 +1000
Content-Type: application/ms-tnef; name="winmail.dat"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary
From: Aaron <aaron@MyProperEmailAddress.com.au>
To: 'Anthony <IMCEAEX-T@MyProperEmailAddress.com.au>

Well as you can see it is treating anthonys address as a local one when the original email has it as something completely different being an external address at one of our vendors (Anthony@SomeExternalVendor.com.au for example)

.  So the question is

1) why is this happening? Is it something google are doing to the PST?

2) Without having to download all my email again... is there a way to 'santise' the PST to make the addresses 'repliable' again?  And I really dont fancy having to type out the SMTP addresses for the first time I uses them.. they are all sitting there in the PST, so why have a dog and bark too hey?  Also, can you imagine getting 500 users in 3 countries to accurately be able to do that?  I don't think it is going to happen.  Also, I don't think it looks good for an IT department to tell users that they have to type all their email addresses out again, makes us look kinda silly :)

This has to have come up before but I could not find a reference to it that did not send people diving down the legacy exchangedn and x.500 rabbit holes. of which i do not believe this is one.

And to cover of the absolute basics, yes I have tried re-creating profiles, tried different machines and what not :)

Hi all

       how do i migrate exchange 2007 to 2013, below is the case

we have 2 DC with same domain name ABC.COM, DC1 name "master" running window server 2008 enterprise sp2 64 bits, DC2 name "dataserver" running window server 2008R2 Enterprise sp2 , DC1 has exchange 2007 running, and i want to deploy DC2 with exchange 2013, how do i migrate mail box from exchange 2007 in DC1 to exchange 2013 in DC2, is it just simply install exchange 2013 on DC2 and replicate the exchange setting from exchange 2003 , because later the DC1 will be dump, and all the FSMO roles already transfered to the DC2, Thx

2. Two Mailbox servers in DAG and two CAS servers in NLB mode

Is the above settings fine ? as the customer has a small environment of only 200 users and also we will deploying all the above on a virtual setup using VMware.

Error During Exchange 2013 Mailbox Transport Role Install On Server 2012

I was installing Exchange 2013 on Server 2012.  The server is not a DC, but is a member of a domain with a 2008 R2 functional level, and I was logged in as a domain admin.  There has never been an Exchange instance on this domain.  I got past the prerequisite checks, and the installer showed 15 steps, so I walked away.  When I came back, I saw this:

Step 8 of 15: Mailbox role: Transport service

Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
          $maxWait = New-TimeSpan -Minutes 8
          $timeout = Get-Date;
          $timeout = $timeout.Add($maxWait);
          $currTime = Get-Date;
          $successfullySetConfigDC = $false;

          while($currTime -le $timeout)
          {
            $setSharedCDCErrors = @();
            try
            {
              Set-SharedConfigDC -DomainController $RoleDomainController -ErrorVariable setSharedCDCErrors -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue;
              $successfullySetConfigDC = ($setSharedCDCErrors.Count -eq 0);

              if($successfullySetConfigDC)
              {
                break;
              }
              Write-ExchangeSetupLog -Info ("An error ocurred while setting shared config DC. Error: " + $setSharedCDCErrors[0]);
            }
            catch
            {
              Write-ExchangeSetupLog -Info ("An exception ocurred while setting shared config DC. Exception: " + $_.Exception.Message);
            }

            Write-ExchangeSetupLog -Info ("Waiting 30 seconds before attempting again.");
            Start-Sleep -Seconds 30;
            $currTime = Get-Date;
          }

          if( -not $successfullySetConfigDC)
          {
            Write-ExchangeSetupLog -Error "Unable to set shared config DC.";
          }
        " was run: "Unable to set shared config DC.".

The only option on the screen was exit, so I did.  I checked the start menu, and there were two new Exchange icons, but I did not click them.  I ran the installer again, and it detected an incomplete install, the only option was to click next to finish the install, so I clicked next.  This time, I eventually got the same error, except the screen showed "Step 8 of 15: Mailbox role: Transport service."  I did install some Exchange 2010 prerquisites on the server before Exchange Server 2013 came out, and I can rebuild the server and try the install again if that would be best, but I thought I should post here first and try to work through this since the product is so fresh.  Any suggestions?

Exchange migration from 2007 to 2013

Dear Forum,

After migrating to Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2007. The outlook clients do not automatically configure. fro every mailbox that is hosted on the new Exchange 2013 I get the error. Cannot start Microsoft outlook. The set of folders cannot be opened.

I tested the auto-configuration with a user on exchange 2007 and outlook opens fine.  I have only been able to open a user on exchange 2013 by using the outlook-anywhere feature and manually configuring the mail setting in the control panel and checking off the require ssl.

other than that opening an exchange users in outlook 2013 was not successful.

Is there anything I am missing in this equation.

Did I not do something to configure proper coexistence?

Any tip will be helpful

ps: everything works fine in OWA.

Missing unified messaging selection.

Hello,

I've installed Exchange 2013 and now I'm trying to follow the steps to integrate with Lync 2013. I'm stuck at the exchange checkpoint to configure Unified Messaging by selecting Servers > unified messaging. The Unified Messaging selection is not available to me. I believe I've set permissions correctly. One other note is my installation is in evaluation mode would this keep me from seeing this option?

Exchange 2013 virtual directories

Hello,

One of our customers' Exchange 2013 is in very bad shape.'
Background info:

Exchange and DC is on one and same server (Server 2012).

Where to begin..

More or less every Virtual Directory is gone.

I cannot start Exchange Managment Shell, Fails with following error:

"Connecting to remote server server.domain.no failed with the following error message: The WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content type is absent or invalid. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.

web.config file is missing from C:\inetpub\wwwroot\

At first I thought it was just a binding error and a problem with the applicationhost.config file. Soon found out it was much more. Can anyone help me? Will provide more information as necessary.

UPDATE:

I have managed to start a Exchange management shell session. I had to install WinRM IIS Extension.

Also, I have come to the conclusion that the VD's are still there, kinda.. When I navigate to ... CN=Exchange Administrative Group\CN=Server\CN=S101\CN=Protocols\CN=HTTP , I can see the applications except for OWA for Default Web Site.
I still cannot see them in IIS.

When I try to run New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "Default Web Site" -Externalurl etc.... I get this error:

Test-ServiceHealth shows all required services running.

Exchange 2010 Rollup 2 SP3 update cannot find installation package exchangeserver.msi file on SBS 2011... NEED HELP!!!

Hello,

I am running a windows SBS 2011 standard system and there was currently an update for Exchange 2010 Rollup 2 Service Pack 3 and it keeps failing.  It says that it cannot find the installation package (exchangeserver.msi) and it is looking for it in E:\Software\Exchange2010-SP3-x64\ folder but there never was this folder.  There is only an Exchange2010-SP3-x64.exe file.

The only exchangeserver.msi file that I find on the server any where is in C:\ProgramFiles\Windows Small Business Server\Bin\CMPNENTS\EXCHANGE14_SP1 but it won't accept it (says not authorized for this update or something alike).

Please help.  It is currently causing issues with email.  Some of the features are not working because it says exchange is currently under maintenance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Second Exchange server 2010 not picking up when first Exchange server 2010 shuts down

I have a virtual test network with Windows Server 2008r2 consisting of 1 dc, 2 mail servers with Exchange server 2010 and 2 workstations windows 7.  The test network email runs great with mail1 on line.  I added a second mail2 to do some testing.  It is recognised in the console.  In testing, if I shut down mail1 the user accounts on the workstations lose email connectivity.

How do I get the second server to pick up the email services for the network.  All are on the same subnet. My goal is to do the testing on the test network before installing a second mail server on my production network.  I also want to install a DAG on the production network, but thats another step.

Recommendations for Exchange 2013 with same email domain, but different countries

$

We currently have our main Exchange servers in Germany, but have multiple locations in the United States.  We have MPLS connections to Germany, but they are fairly slow, and we have other traffic besides Exchange on these connections.

When setting up a new computer for a user in the US, it takes multiple days for Outlook to copy the mail down for the first time setup (and with the speed, we definitely want the local cache).

I was thinking it may improve performance by setting up a server at the main location in the United States.  I'm assuming we can configure exchange to forward all incoming mail for the US accounts would from the German Exchange server to US server.

Would this be a recommended setup?  Any suggestions for best practices or making this as efficient as possible?

Thank you!

Creating Mbx for Existing Users

Exit from email hosting service for 1500 users, to on-premise Ex2013.

AD already local and users all have accounts.

Have a CSV with all data for each user.

Anyone care to share their favorite PowerShell to bulk create mailboxes, plus will populate the GAL with:

FirstName, LastName, HomePhone, MobilePhone, Phone, Company, Title, Department, Office

...and add an archive DB to the mbx.

I have several variations i'm trying such as:

$mailbox=import-csv C:\<filename>.CSV
ForEach ($mailbox in $mailbox) {Enable-Mailbox -Identity $Mailbox.Identity -Database $Mailbox.Database | Enable-Mailbox –Archive -ArchiveDatabase "<enter archive db name here>"}<o:p></o:p>

However want to do this all in one pass if possible, so need to finetune the PS.

(Also had a look at http://www.telnetport25.com/2012/11/ebuctexchange-2013-bulk-user-creation-tool/ which looks quite cool, but only creates a blank mbx).

Exchange 2013 Integration with Server 2012 Essentials - Question about Deployment Assistant

$
0
0

I am in the process of integrating an Exchange Server 2013 server with my Server 2012 Essentials server, and I have a question about some information the Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant is asking me about my organization.

I have a Server 2012 Essentials server named ESSENTIALS, my active directory domain is MYDOMAIN.LOCAL, and my external name for this server is REMOTE.MYDOMAIN.COM.

I have a second Server 2012 Standard server named EXCHANGE, it is joined as a member server to the MYDOMAIN.LOCAL domain, and it will have an external name of MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM.  I am in the process of installing Exchange 2013 on this server using the Deployment Assistant.

The Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant is asking me some information about my organization, and I am not certain how to answer these questions.  Specifically, it is asking me for:

- Active Directory forest root --> I assume it is MYDOMAIN.LOCAL

- External Exchange 2013 FQDN for the following services:

  • Outlook Anywhere
  • Offline Address Book
  • Exchange Web Services (EWS)
  • Exchange ActiveSync --> I assume this will be MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM

- Internal Exchange 2013 FQDN for the following services:

  • Outlook Anywhere
  • Offline Address Book
  • Remote PowerShell
  • Exchange Web Services (EWS)
  • Exchange ActiveSync
           Internal URL same as external URL  --> I assume this will be MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM

           Internal URL different than external URL   --> I assume this also will be MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM  because the guide I am reading says"If you need to configure virtual directories, we recommend that you also set the InternalUrl property to be the same URL as the ExternalUrl property for each virtual directory"

- External Exchange 2013 FQDN for the following services:

  • Outlook Web App
  • ECP (Exchange Admin Center) --> I assume this will be MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM

- Internal Exchange 2013 FQDN for the following services:

  • Outlook Web App
  • ECP (Exchange Admin Center)
            Internal URL same as external URL  --> I assume this will be MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM

           Internal URL different than external URL   --> I assume this also will be MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM  because the guide I am reading says"If you need to configure virtual directories, we recommend that you also set the InternalUrl property to be the same URL as the ExternalUrl property for each virtual directory"

- Autodiscover FQDN --> I assume this will be AUTODISCOVER.MYDOMAIN.COM

- Primary SMTP namespace --> I assume this will be MYDOMAIN.COM

- User principal name domain --> I assume this will be MYDOMAIN.COM

If anyone that has successfully integrated Exchange Server 2013 with Server 2012 Essentials has any recommendations on any of these answers asked by the Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant about my organization, your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you!

Decommission 2010 server after 2013 migration with hybrid config

$

I have a hybrid setup with on premise 2010 SP3 to O365 Wave 15 and on premise 2013.  I am getting close to having all mailboxes moved off of 2010 and either into the cloud or onto the on premise 2013 server.  Once this process is complete, how do i decommission the 2010 server and move the hybrid config to 2013?  I have tried to run the hybrid config wizard on 2013 to upgrade the hybrid, but it fails with the error "ERROR : Subtask Configure execution failed: Upgrading hybrid configuration from Exchange 2010...No Inbound connector found on the Office 365 tenant.  at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.Hybrid.UpgradeConfigurationFrom14Task.UpgradeFopeConnectors(ITaskContext taskContext) at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.Hybrid.UpgradeConfigurationFrom14Task.Configure(ITaskContext taskContext) at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.Hybrid.Engine.ExecuteSubStep(String subStepName, ITaskContext taskContext, ITask task, Func`3 substep, Func`4 createException, Boolean throwOnFalse)"

There is an inbound connector in our O365 tenant that was upgraded from FOPE to EOP by the Wave 15 upgrade.  Our hybrid config works.  I want to make sure that it continues to work after i decomm the 2010 server.  My final intent is to maintain our on premise 2013 server in hybrid config with our O365 tenant as i have some mailboxes that need to remain on premise.
