We have about 500 users coming from a notes env. to our env of exchange 2010. They want to bring their emaisl with them. We may be provided by NSF files by their mail admin and then we use a third party tool to convert to pst. Question .. what is the best approach, what will happen to recurring appointments, tasks, encrypted items? Their admin will/may config mail forwarding at his end pointed to their mbxs on exchange server at our end. Not sure what strategy he/we adapt. How would you do or done this kinda migration? Whats were the lessons learnt and what shud we consider. Much appreciated- tnx! there will be none or have no relationship or trust of any kind between these 2 orgs.

Exchange 2013 Setup
I am installing Exchange 2013 on a new server in a Exchange 2007 Environment. When I first install Exchange 2013, mailflow works to myself and from a 2007 user. When i update to the CU13 or 14 all mailflow stops working and the messages get stuck in the queue.
When i check the message tracking log i get the following errors. SmtpResponse:441 4.4.1 Error encountered while communicating with primary target IP address: ""421 4.4.2 Connection dropped due to SocketError."" Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. The last endpoint attempted was 172.......:2525"
No other changes were made. The Firewall on the server is turned off and there is no A/V. Server 2012 R2. If i check the Queue the SMTP Relay to Mailbox Delivery and SMTP Delivery to Mailbox have messages stuck.Do domain permissions reside on exported to PST mailbox?
Greetings all and thanks in advance,
Exchange 2013 CU13.
I've followed the steps to allow Import/Export from the EAC. The export completed. Now I am trying to open the resultant .pst file but am getting access denied.
"File access I denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file..."
I'm thinking since I am not that user, I don't have access.
The content is being passed along to the original owner of the mailbox, who is no longer with the firm.
Are these domain permissions I am running into and if so, how do I strip them during the pst creation process?
Thank you,
Willis
Exchange 2013 get-healthreport Healthset network is unhealthy
Hello,
i´m migrating our exchange 2010 standalone server to exchange 2013 (two servers with mailbox and cas role and dag).
Last week i found the get-healthreport command. So i execute this command on both server to check if my installations are correct.
But i found on both server that the network Healthset is unhealthy. Also i found in the Microsoft eventviewer this error.
receive side scaling should be activated
So i ask Dr. Google but i found nothing to fix my problem. I tried to disable netsh int tcp set global chimney=disabled
and netsh int tcp set global rss=disabled and enabled SR-IOV for the virtual network card.
But nothing helped.
Both servers run as vm on a hyer-v host. The server and hyper-v host run with Windows 2012R2.
So, have somebody an idea?

outlook web services test failed
We use external URI in internal network.
Test-OutlookWebServices -> gives good results
Source ServiceEndpoint Scenario Result Latency (MS) ------ --------------- -------- ------ ------- server.name.fqdn mail.domain.com Autodiscover: Outlook Provider Success 109 server.name.fqdn mail.domain.com Exchange Web Services Success 71 server.name.fqdn mail.domain.com Availability Service Success 148 server.name.fqdn mail.domain.com Offline Address Book Success 98
However, command per user gives failures, cause ServiceEndpoint becomes internal server fqdn. We don't use server fqdn in certificate.

How to change ServiceEndpoint?
Autodiscover and all other staff work Ok from both internal and external networks. Is it ok to left everything like this?
Upgradation CU9 to CU13
Team,
Please help me with the steps need to followup for upgrading Exchange from cu9 to cu13.
Will their any impact on application which are relaying mail through existing exchange server 2013.
CU8 to CU13
I'm trying to determine some of the prep work I need to do before CU8 to CU13. Based on the documentation, I'm assuming I need to run the following commands on the DC prior to the upgrade. Can someone confirm?
setup.exe /PrepareSchema /IacceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
setup.exe /PrepareAD /IacceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
setup.exe /PrepareDomain /IacceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

Unresolved ObjectType on all newly created or migrated 2013 Mailboxes
When migrating or adding a new user to Exchange 2013, I get the following error when going into the Mailbox Delegation section in the Exchange Admin Center.
The object <Object CN> has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:
The access control entry defines the ObjectType 'Object GUID' that can't be resolved.
I have done the following to try and resolve the GUID
Searched via LDP, ADSI, ADUC, Repadmin, with nothing found. I've converted the GUID from string to hex and searched with still no luck.
I get the identical error when running a Get-ADPermissions on the object as well.
There are no inheritance blocks on the object or OUs.
I've opened a Premier case, but wanted to ask the community if they have seen this or had any suggestions. As of right now, Exchange 2013 is the only app that can see this orphaned object.
"The Exchange server for the database object "Mailbox Database 0637172224" wasn't found in Active Directory Domain Services. The object may be corrupted."
Getting REAL frustrated installing Exchange 2013. Tried to install MSDN Exchange 2013 and then update it with CU3 and that failed all over the place with exceptions.
So I am trying to install a "fresh" CU2 installation from command line and it goes quite a long way in the setup and then fails at Mailbox Role: Mailbox service. Fails trying to mount the database with "The Exchange server for the database object "Mailbox Database 0637172224" wasn't found in Active Directory Domain Services. The object may be corrupted."
As previously mentioned I did a complete error free install with MSDN 2013, no problems. Previous to CU2 install I installed all prerequisites, setup/ps, setup/PreapreAD, setup /pd.
Done searching for answers as this is gotten to be more than a headache. The goal here is to migrate Exchange 2007 to 2013 and I need at least CU2.
Any idea's???
Exchange 2013 CU2 will not install, Exchange is now in an unuseable state.
I have downloaded Exchange 2013 CU2 and attempted to install it from a local drive. Exchange 2013 is installed on a Server 2012 Standard VM in Hyper-V. I ran the two following commands before trying to install
setup.exe /PrepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
setup.exe /PrepareAD /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
Upon trying to run the installer, I recieve the following error.
Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
& $RoleBinPath\ServiceControl.ps1 EnableServices Critical
" was run: "AuthorizationManager check failed.".
During my first install attept, the error was on step 4 of 15. I have tried to rerun the setup with no luck. I noticed the installer leaves all the Exchange services disabled, as well as winmgmt, remoteregistry, w3svc, iisadmin. These four services are the critical services the errors refer to. I have verified my execution policy is correct
PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-ExecutionPolicy -list
Scope
ExecutionPolicy
-----
---------------
MachinePolicy
Unrestricted
UserPolicy
Undefined
Process
Undefined
CurrentUser
Undefined
LocalMachine
RemoteSigned
Upon trying to rerun the setup, I have ran the following commands in order to start the critical services manually
Get-Service-namewinmgmt,remoteregistry,w3svc,iisadmin|set-service-startuptypeautomatic
Get-Service-namewinmgmt,remoteregistry,w3svc,iisadmin|Start-Service
No matter what I do, the Exchange 2013 CU2 installer seems to fail. I'd appreciate any possible help with this.
Thanks,
Chris

Install Exchange Server after Azure AD Connect
Hi guys, I don´t know if this is the best forum to ask this question, I hope you can help me.
One year ago, we migrated our mailboxes to Exchange Online (Hybrid migration), and DirSync (AzureADConnect) was installed to replicate attributes. Few months ago, we setup a new AD, and migrate all user accounts from old domain to new domain and install AzureADConnect to replicate attributes from this new domain (mail, proxyaddresses). This new domain does not have local Exchange server installed, nor the schema is not extended with Exchange attributes. Now, we want to install a local Exchange server as per Microsoft´s recommendations (manage cloud Mailbox because ADSIEdit is not supported to do this).
What will happen to those Exchange attributes replicated from old domain to Exchange Online? Will they be overwritted by empty Exchange attributes from the new domain?
Thanks in advance.

CAS Servers in DMZ
Hi,
I would like to know if there is any possibility to keep CAS Servers in DMZ. As my network team has objection and saying that front end servers should be in DMZ area , especially for the connection of Outlook, OWA, ActiveSync for external users.

Content Index Unknown State after Exchange 2013 CU15 update
Hi guys - I have just upgraded to CU15 and when checking Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus | FL Name,*Index* I receive the following:-
Name : MDB1\CERBERUS
ContentIndexState : Unknown
ContentIndexErrorMessage : Could not find registry value of Index Status for database
{2c569645-36e4-4906-848d-5c38d67c7574}.
ContentIndexErrorCode :
ContentIndexVersion :
ContentIndexBacklog :
ContentIndexRetryQueueSize :
ContentIndexMailboxesToCrawl :
ContentIndexSeedingPercent :
ContentIndexSeedingSource :
ContentIndexServerSource :
I have tried all the usual fixes.
Deleting content index folder and restarting Search services.
This has not resolved the issue, as I suspect the registry keys are the issue here.
When checking HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v15\Search\IndexStatus there are no keys present.
This is a single Exchange 2013 server, so I do not have another server to copy the keys from.
Any ideas?
add a other certificate for new owa site of exchange
I have domain for default web site corresponding default owa : mail.vnta.gov.vn . This site is using certificate has subject name: mail.vnta.gov.vn
After I have created a site on IIS that installed exchange server by new-owavirtualdirectory with domain: mailbox.vnta.gov.vn. Currently, i am having a certificate that has subject name: *.vnta.gov.vn.
I know that i can change mail.vnta.gov.vn use *.vnta.gov.vn then anything will ok.
But how i still want not only keep mail.vnta.gov.vn -> mail.vnta.gov.vn but also mailbox.vnta.gov.vn -> *.vnta.gov.vn ?
Can i help me?
