Hi, 

Having trouble with 1 meeting room shows as Unknown in the room finder. Everything is working but this one room has some unknown errors to it. 

Have tried to remove and re add but no luck. 

I also have an equipment mailbox in the same room list but this does not appear and actually gives the same unknown error. (this I can understand)

So 2 questions :

How to troubleshoot the unknown error on the meeting room (6 meeting rooms are ok and working) ?

Is it possible to have equipment mailboxes in a Roomlist ?

We need to remove these two exchange servers from current DAG. We need to create a new DAG and add these mailbox servers in new DAG. We also need to remove old DAG. If there is any metadata cleanup is required, kindly let me know those steps too.

We are trying to come into compliance by disabling TLS 1.0 in our Exchange 2013 CU21 environment. When we update registry keys and restart the single server the mobile devices do not update. We use up to date iphones, ipads and android devices.

I have been trying to install Exchange Server 2013 on a virtual Windows 2012 R2 Server that is part of AD but not DC. Another W2012 R2 virtual machine is running as the only DC in the network.

Setup stops during AD prepare (GUI & CLI) and gives me a class violation error. My system is in German but it pretty much goes like this (translation to English by me):

I have to add that I had experimented with Zentyal before we decided to get Exchange. I believe it imitates an Exchange 2000 Server using OpenChange. Zentyal was first added as additional DC. It was removed by hand when we decided to with Exchange.

I looked at quite a lot of posts but haven't found a solution yet.

Does anybody have an idea to solve this problem?

After moving mailboxes to Exchange 2013, I get this loop of where when I log in through the OWA in 2013, it redirects me tohttps://legacy.myorg.com/owa which then presents a message that the mailbox needs to be accessed in a different version of OWA, and it gives the link to it. So I click the link and I go right back to the OWA 2013 login page.

Now here is where it gets unusual... if I'm outside my network accessing OWA externally, it continues this cycle over and over.  If my users are internal and they try it, it puts them on OWA correctly.  It never attempts to redirect them to the legacy site (or it may try once, but then after that they are fine).  Exchange knows that the mailbox has moved and sticks the user to the correct OWA server.  But all that's internal.  Externally, it just goes back and forth which is aggravating because I do have a few users that use OWA externally majority of the time.

Any ideas?

I had an Exchange server 2013 CU21 installed on the domain controller windows server 2012 R2. This is a virtual machine of Vmware.

The domain controller Active Directory broken after a blackout. I have a backup of VM but is damaged so can only recover some files. I can't restore the AD. So I have install a new VM with windows server 2016 and promote it to domain controller with same domain name.

I have demote the old server 2012 domain controller and add it to domain.

Now have the server 2012 with exchange 2013 CU21 and the domain controller on windows 2016.

I prepare AD for Exchange Server:

Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareSchema /DomainController:Server2016.domain.local
Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareAD  /OrganizationName:"MG" /DomainController:Server2016.domain.local
Exchange Management Shell error is: 
No Exchange servers are available in any Active Directory sites.  You 
can't connect to remote Powershell on a computer that only has the 
Management Tools role installed.
Now how can restore the server and mailbox parameter into the new Active Directory?

I recently updated my Exchange 2013 server to CU21 but I run a separate Edge Transport server as my email spam filtering device. Should I run the same patch on that server as well? 

When I run GCM Exsetup.exe | % {$_.FileVersionInfo} on the Edge Transport Server it shows: 15.00.0847.032

When I run GCM Exsetup.exe | % {$_.FileVersionInfo} on the Exchange Server it shows: 15.00.1395.004

After Exchange reinstallation, my inplace hold disappeared. 
I can't find it with get-mailboxsearch

However, mailboxes still have GUID under inplaceholds property. I can see it here.

get-mailbox my_mailbox | ft InPlaceHolds

If user purges mail items from recycle bin, I can still find these items purged folder. Does it mean that in place hold works?

Should I recreate inplace hold and reassign it to users?

I downloaded the CU21 and run the setup file. The setup has been completed successfully however i found on one of article that before update we must prepare "Perform AD Schema and Domain Preparation for Exchange 2013 CU21" and i missed this step.

Is any one know what would be a impact and how i can fix this issue? Thank you in advance

Hi all, I hope you can help me with the following...

Our environment consists of 1 forest (and 1 Exchange organisation) with multiple Internet (AD) sites. Each site is holding few Exchange servers in their own DAG (specific to that site) and we have one O365 tenant.

One of the sites has configured hybrid, however, we would like to configure all other sites to the same hybrid as well. How does it work then?

• does each site need a separate hybrid server?
• is there just one single migration endpoint or will there be several?
• it seems we have a request for <g class="gr_ gr_236 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="236" id="236">hybrid</g> to be set in one location only, so where do I run it? in what site?
• what servers do I configure for hybrid configuration?
• how will the mail flow be configured... will the emails be delivered from O365 directly to the site where recipient mailbox is located or will it go through specific hybrid servers first and then to the right site?

Any additional information and details would be highly appreciated. I couldn't find this kind of setup anywhere yet.

• 4487603 "The action cannot be completed" error when you select many recipients in the Address Book of Outlook in Exchange Server 2013
• 4490060 Exchange Web Services Push Notifications can be used to gain unauthorized access
• 4490059 Reducing permissions required to run Exchange Server using Shared Permissions Mod

When it comes to real time deployment we will have few things to clarify for a smooth installation.

1. Will this reduced permission model impact any of the exchange operations ? 

2. Will the Changes to the EWS architecture impact SFB & Outlook for MAC or any other applications?

"After this change, clients that rely on an authenticated EWS Push Notification from the server that is running Exchange Server will require a client update to continue to function correctly."

One major concern is that we had to reset the exchange computer account password.

Please do pour in your inputs to perform a flawless upgrade.

I am migrating a large public folder structure and following instructions here: Directions . I am preparing for step 6 which is lock and load... While syncing the mailboxes in step five we had one mailbox that we had loads of errors and managed to repair all of them then we resynced the mailbox after the fail and it is now in the state when we run Get-PublicFolderMailboxMigrationRequest it says :

I crashed an Exchange 2013 Installation on Server 2012 R2 while installing the CU11. It stopped during step 3 with a fatal error, code 1603. I can repeat this error when trying to install it again. The Services are disabled now, and I'm unsure about the versions of the binaries.

As far as I could Google for it, the 1603 is a generic MSI Installation error code. I am not able to get more details for it. The last lines of the Setup log from the installer are:

Сейчас процесс миграции с Exchange 2010 на Exchange 2013. Раньше до Exchange 2010 стоял еще Exchange 2003, когда то до меня делали миграции почты.

Все обновления на все сервера установлены, все CU на Exchnge установлены.

После переноса почтовых ящиков с Exchange 2010 на Exchange 2013 у некоторых пользователей появилась ошибка:

"не удалось запустить приложение Microsoft Outlook. невозможно открыть окно outlook. Невозможно открыть набор папок...".

Что характерно почтовый ящик можно подключить к другому почтовому ящику, зайти на него через OWA или IMAP.

настройка тоже выполняется без проблем:

Почта у остальных пользователей не подверженных проблеме работает.

тесты https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ проходят у без проблемных пользователей без ошибки. У пользователей с ошибкой выдает:

I have tried to redownload the CU22, Its extract with no problem.

The server had not been patched for a long time, so I When durring the process of updating windows to Current update, and then update to .net 472 before trying til install first the CU21 - which failed with the same error as, the CU22 :-(

My guess it's its something local on the server causing the issue, since its both CU 21 and CU22 which fails with ApaAgentPerfCounters.h. 

I have don a procmon off the installation, and the MSI have access to the \ApaAgentPerfCounters.h file.What todo ??

This is my scenario. 

Originally had one SBS Server 2008 with Exchange 2007

I wanted to upgrade the server and eventually Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2016. 

I installed a new Windows Server 2016 Standard PC. I also installed Hyper-V on this new server and have another Server 2016 OS running on the Hyper-V. This virtual OS has been setup as a Domain Controller along with the SBS Server. 

All of the FSMO roles , DNS, DHCP,  have been migrated to the virtual OS. 

I am now in the process of upgrading Exchange Server 2007 to 2016. Since I cannot run these two together I have installed a temporary Server 2012 with Exchange 2013 CU21. I have set it up in a co-existence option.

I followed the Exchange deployment assistant and most things went well however did have one problem running this command. This command did not work because it could not find the default RPC Website on the SBS Server I assume. When I check in IIS on the SBS the RPC option is not there.

I also had problems setting the internal DNS settings as mentioned below. The domain name of my server is a .local domain so when I was trying to add the DNS records it would not allow me to add them in the same format as below. I was getting mail.contoso.com.mydomain.local as the FQDN. I am not sure if this is correct or not. 

Also which DNS Server PC should I be adding these records on. I do not have DNS installed on the Exchange server 2013 PC so i tried to add on the Virutal 2016 Domain controller PC. Is this correct or not.

As a result the PC running Outlook are constantly prompting for username and password when connecting to the Exchange 2013 server. If i enter the username and password sever times it connects but every time I close and re open Outlook the problem is back again. I have set the Outlook anywhere Authentication to NTLM through the EMC but the problem is still there. 

Any Help would be appreciated.
