Outlook Web App is not working

I am in the process of migrating to exchange 2013 from 2010.  All roles are installed on each server.  The exchange 2013 is setup as the CAS server for connections, as I have made the required changes in dns to point to it.  The one issue I have come across is that OWA is not working properly, when a users mailbox is on the exchange 2010 server.  He can login to OWA, but the page is all garbled.  It shows all the folder names with missing icons besides them all along the left side of the screen.  It works fine when the users mailbox is on the exchange 2013 server.   One thing I did notice is that the url is showing ashttps://owa.accellos.com, so if I append owa at the end of the url and refresh, it works.  Why is it not doing that automatically?

Thanks

Carlos

Imported certificate from Exchange 2010 but its not listed in the configuration page

So, currently Ex 2010 on Server 2008.  Installing my first 2013 server.  I exported the cert from Ex2010, imported it onto the Ex2013 box per the instructions in the Deployment Assistant.  However when I :

  1. Open the EAC by browsing to the URL of your Client Access server. For example, https://Ex2013/ECP.
  2. Enter your user name and password in Domain\user name and Password, and then click Sign in.
  3. On the Server > Certificates page in the EAC, select the new certificate you just added, and then click Edit Edit Icon.
  4. On the certificate page, click Services.
  5. Select the services you want to assign to this certificate. At minimum, you should select IIS but you can also select IMAPPOP, and UM call router if you use these services. If you want to use secure transport, you can also select SMTP to make this certificate available to Exchange 2013 transport.

I don't see the cert I imported.  So, I did go into IIS manager and applied the imported cert there.  Is this OK or will other stuff not work as intended?

Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();

Does anyone have any idea's as to what is causing this issue?

AD name different to Exchange - how?

$

Hi all,

I've setup new Exchange 2013 but having issues with the DNS records. My AD domain name is company.uni.edu.au however the email is being accepted on company.com.au domain.

I installed SSL certificate for Exchange required domains (exchange.company.com.au, discover.company.com.au) and it works fine.

The only issue is when I connect with Outlook, there's a Security alert, alerting me that the certificate been issued only for company.com.au and not company.uni.edu.au

How to resolve this issue? Do I need to get another SSL certificate or just change some DNS settings?

PS: DNS resolves the IP address correctly to exchange.copmany.com.au (which is what I want)

Thanks.

  Hi,

I am running Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 on sama domain. I need some answers before I continue.

 1) Can I  move mailboxes gradually to Exchange 2013 without problem? Is there any thing I shuld be aware of regarding that?

 2) Can I use the same network for DAG on Exchange 2013 as I am using on Exchange 2010, I am using whole Cnet fore this purpose. Having poblem creating a  new DAG group on 2013. Maybe it will be solved by installing Exchange 2013 CU2??

 3)  Can I use ECP for administering both Ex 2010 and Ex, like creating users and all administration regarding that.

 4) Should I get new certificate for CAS service now og can I pospone it?

 thanks.

Local Move Request & inconsistent mailbox status on Exchange 2013

$

Hi all,

We are in progress to upgrade our exchange server to 2013. But there are issues that we feel like it's still unstable.

Here is the case:

- We did local mailbox request (i.e. from mailbox database 100MB to 1GB), via GUI, after sometimes, the request COMPLETED but the other column shows 0 including Finalized column, the mailbox is not migrated at all

- Then we tried to do the move request via exchange powershell, it prompted error and apparently there were still unclear previous move request (Get-MoveRequest and we get the result).

We delete the previous move request and rerun the command, and it works.

Via ECP, the Recipient list shows the database are still on old mailbox database. We need to edit the mailbox detail, and go to more option, to totally sure that it has been moved.

Anyone has experienced this before? Kindly advise.

Thanks.

Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 R2 - 403 errors on default web site

$

This is a fresh/clean installation of both Server 2008 R2 and Exchange 2007 SP3, about as vanilla as it can get.

On the default web site (the one that shows the IIS7 logo screen) and in fact any directory under that one, after installing Exchange the root site and all the sub-directories all 'fail' with 403 "Forbidden" errors whereas they were all working fine prior to installing Exchange.

Other root sites on the same IIS server still work fine. It's just the 'default' site (the one where the Exchange installation added all of its stuff, where the CA lives, etc) that is having the problem.'

What's up with this?

Thanks.

Unresolved ObjectType on all newly created or migrated 2013 Mailboxes

When migrating or adding a new user to Exchange 2013, I get the following error when going into the Mailbox Delegation section in the Exchange Admin Center.

The object <Object CN> has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:

The access control entry defines the ObjectType 'Object GUID' that can't be resolved.

I have done the following to try and resolve the GUID

Searched via LDP, ADSI, ADUC, Repadmin, with nothing found. I've converted the GUID from string to hex and searched with still no luck.

I get the identical error when running a Get-ADPermissions on the object as well.

There are no inheritance blocks on the object or OUs.

I've opened a Premier case, but wanted to ask the community if they have seen this or had any suggestions. As of right now, Exchange 2013 is the only app that can see this orphaned object.

Email doesn't go from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010

New Exchange 2013 server CU2 in an existing Exchange 2010 Org.  Created a test mailbox in 2010, moved it to the 2013 server (reported successful).  I can send my test user an email from a mailbox in 2010, but if he replies I don't get the mail. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this are most welcome.

Recommended Active Directory version before upgrading Exchange 2003 -> 2013?

Hi,

We are planning an Exchange Server upgrade from 2003 -> 2013.  The directory servers are all on 2003.  I see that Exchange 2010 and 2013 will run on 2003 directory services.

Are there benefits to upgrading the domain controllers to 2008 or 2012 before we upgrade Exchange?

Thanks!

Exchange 2010, configuring HA (disaster recovery) in another Site

$

Hi, I was planning my Exchange 2010 (sp1) HA architecture, but I stumble in something unexpected (due to my ignorance) and I'm looking for advice.

Here is the situation now:

I have a virtual exchange server with HUB and CAS roles and another phisical exchange server with mailbox role installed. They are both in my primary site.

Now we have a remote site and a remote vmware hosts to use for HA and disaster recovery purposes. The internal network of the DR site is different from mine and it's natted too. More precisely my primary network is 192.168.100.0/24 and the DR network is 192.168.60.0/24 natted with 192.168.113.0/24.

The DR domain controller and the DR AD site are already in place.

My idea was:

- to use veeam replication to create a replica of the first exchange server, the virtual one of course, with CAS and HUB roles. I thought to use the veeam network remapping tool to change che server IP address in case of failover.

- to install a new exchange server in the DR site with mailbox role only and configure a DAG

I thought it was brilliant.

It was not..

Since i cannot create the veeam replica right now (long story) I tried to install the DAG and here we are with my problems.

Error:

Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory. Could not find Active Directory site to which this server belongs.

This is weird, because I have no problems with site replications etc.

Warning:

Setup did not detect an existing Huh Transport Server role installed in Active Directory site 'DR'...
Setup did not detect an existing Client Access Server role installed in Active Directory site 'DR'...

And that's my real problem. I didn't remember that Exchange is site based.

What are my options now?
Could I install CAS and HUB just to complete the install and then ignore them or they will cause problems with my primary site?

In the end, what do you think should I do?

At this point I could re-think the all thing.

Thank you and sorry for the grammar

Hybrid Deployment Autodiscover Requirements

Hi,

I am performing a migration to a hybrid exchange deployment.

I have looked on the deployment assistant for autodiscover dns information but it just says I need autodiscover.domain.com externally pointing to my on premise CAS which I already have from my current deployment.

My question is... If a user mailbox gets moved to office 365 how does autodiscover work to redirect them to the cloud service for their URL's?

Can someone give me a high level description for internal and external outlook users?

i.e. external user: connect to cas using public autodiscover.domain.com A record, on premise CAS provides alternative autodiscover URL??
