So I've decided to start testing SSL offloading with Exchange 2013 SP1 now that it is supported. I have followed this guide: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn635115(EXCHG.150).aspx. It is fairly straightforward, remove the "Require SSL" option on the VDIRS and IISRESET.
To test, I load up http://CAS/OWA and it immediately redirects to HTTPS://CAS/OWA. I do not see why it is doing this or how to configure it otherwise. So while my server is accepting connections on port 80, it's just bouncing them over to 443. How do we disable this?
I checked the HTTP Redirect option on the VDIRs, which is not present. Also, I am going straight to the server, so there is not a device in front that is redirecting my requests. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Brandon

Hi All
Has anyone managed to migrate Public folders from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 in a cross frost Migration.
I have successfully managed to move all mailboxes and distribution groups across, but cannot get any where with Public folders.
PF are about 200 GB and I am not looking forward to PSTs. Public folder structure has access restrictions and about 150 of them are mail enabled, so a migration is much desirable.
The 2 way trust is there between the 2 forests.
I called MS and was told Cross forest Migration is not support as yet. The recommended path is :
Exchange 2010 > Exchange 2010 ( Cross forest ) then do Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 ( In forest)
I have googled enough and there is not much help.
[PS] C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Scripts>New-PublicFolderMigrationRequest -SourceDatabase (Get-Public

Exchange server "exch2010" was not found. Please make sure you typed the name correctly.

I believe the issue is here : -SourceDatabase (Get-Public FolderDatabase -Server exch2010)
As there is no way to supply remote and local exchange credentials
Even if I do
Get-PublicFolderDatabase -Server exch2010
It fails as Exch2010 is in a different forest.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,<o:p></o:p>
We are in the process of migrating an old exchange server 2010/Active Directory 2008 R2 environment to a new one. We have installed an exchange server 2010 and we just started the current user's mailboxes into their new mailboxes. Users currently use POP3/SMTP to access their mailboxes and they download their old emails into local PST files.<o:p></o:p>
First, we planned to export current mailboxes into PST files and then import them into user's new mailbox and beside that with the help of a logon script to create new outlook profile to connect to the new exchange server with MAPI protocol. We tested the export/import solution and everything just worked fine.<o:p></o:p>
The problem that we have faced is data that users have in their local pst files and is not available on the old exchange server.<o:p></o:p>
Is there any solution to migrate user's local PST files into their mailboxes with a help of EMS commands?<o:p></o:p>

I installed Exchange 2013 on 2 brand new Server 2012 virtual machines, one with the mailbox role and another with the CAS roles. The installation completed without errors but I cannot log on to the ECP (or OWA for that matter). As I enter my user/pass, the password field goes blank and a number of event log entries are added (see below).
I'm using the default administrator account (also Enterprise Admin, Domain Admin and member of the Organization Management security groups). I mail-enabled the account with enable-mailuser + enable-mailbox. I can execute Exchange Powershell cmdlets when logged on with this account, so security looks good.
The problem is OWA/ECP which consistenly logs the following errors when I attempt to access the OWA:

Hi
I would like to ask, i have outlook 2007 and Exchange server 2013, when i configure outlook 2007, i fail to configuration, Is it outlook 2007 compaitable to exchange server 2013.
Greetings all,
Although it is explained in the following article, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831700.aspx
still conflicting, due to lack of example scenarios.
What will be the benefit of having Deduplication for Exchange Data "Mailbox Databases" ?
and gain the same for Exchange Server Backup Volumes?
as long as there is only and only one mailbox and cannot be duplicated originally, which is not the situation of reducing number of duplicated file in deduplication.
Thanking you
Hi,
We installed Exchange 2010 Service Pack 3 update roll up 4 in our two CAS servers using the same installers. Both were at the same version prior to changes: 14.02.0318.001. However, after installation of SP3 + Rollup4, one CAS server ends up with version 14.03.0174.001, while the other one had 14.03.0123.003.
I see this version when I open Exchange management console --> About Exchange. But if I use the command: Get-Exchangeserver | fl name, edition, admindisplayversion both servers get same version like below:
Edition : Enterprise
AdminDisplayVersion : Version 14.3 (Build 123.4)
Should I be concerned that on the management console they are slightly off versions? And can anyone explain to me why they end up in different versions but if I use the command line, they appear to be the same?
Thanks!
We just brought online a new Exchange 2013 server in coexistence with Exchange 2007. We have been trying to send emails within OWA all day without any luck. All the messages keep going into Drafts. The email address being used was created on Exchange 2013 and is being sent to an email address in Exchange 2013. I have done all of the DNS changes within Exchange Admin Center as well as in the hosts file. I have also done what was suggested in this forum:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1813eec7-dc2b-40af-a3b0-1fd552f745e2/all-sent-emails-stuck-in-either-outbox-for-outlook-or-drafts-for-owa-on-new-exchange-2013?forum=exchangesvrclients
We have had not luck with this. Any other possibilities I could be missing?
Thank you,
Ryan
Hello,
We followed this blog post to migrate from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-1-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx
Before decommissioning Exchange 2007, we created a new user on the Exchange 2013 server using ECP and migrated an existing Exchange 2007 user using ECP.
Autodiscovery, Outlook Web Access and Active Sync are working fine.
However, we cannot open these two mailboxes in Outlook 2010 or 2013 on Windows 7.
When I add one of the mailboxes in Outlook, AutoDiscovery is working fine. However, Outlook then complains that "the action cannot be completed. the microsoft exchange address book was unable to log on to exchange."
When I do the same in Outlook with a user that is not yet migrated, the Mailbox is setup just fine.
Any idea?

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to do inplace upgrade of exchange 2013 from exchaneg 2010 ? I have recieved the following error when I runsetup /prepareschema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTermsfrom Exchange 2013 with SP1 CD.
Welcome to Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1 Unattended Setup.
Setup checks failed: Earlier versions of the server roles that are installed were detected.
I am upgrading on my test enviornment where single Exchange server has all the roles in CA, MB & HT in Windows 2008R2 AD.
Any feedback will be appreciated.

As i am doing transition from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
Do i need to create an Host Record(legacy) pointing to my exchange 2007.
After i decommission my exchange 2007 i will change the ip of my exchange 2013 back to the old ip(exchange 2007 ip)
If i create the legacy host record do i need to delete this record as i decommission my exchange 2007.
this legacy record should be pointing to my internal ip or the public ip.
do this record should be created at the ISP also.
Should this record be added to the SAN certificate
should this record be added to %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
I initially had one Exchange 2013SP1 server (EX01)(running Mailbox/CAS roles) running on Windows 2012.
As we want to move to Windows 2012R2, I build two Windows 2012R2 servers and installed Exchange 2013SP1 on each one. Server MB01 hosts the MAILBOX role only and server CAS01 hosts the ClientAccess role only.
The installs all went ok, I have migrated the users (including arbitration etc) from EX01 to MB01 and reconfigured external access to come via CAS01.
Everything works fine... That is until I power off EX01
With EX01 powered off, I cannot access the ECP or OWA via CAS01 (either internally or externally).
I get the OWA login screen, but after a while I get a HTTP 500 Internal Server error. Full Outlook clients can still connect.
When EX01 is powered on again everything returns to normal.
I have tried re-creating the OWA & ECP virtual directories on CAS01 and MB01 but to no avail.
It appears that there is something in the config hard coded to use EX01 but I can't find it.
Many thanks in advance for any help
Steve
