I am performing some mailbox moves on one of our systems here in testing for a migration. I believe I need to increase the number of CPUs on the virtual machine I am using but wanted to ask to be sure. Currently we have one of the return values of Get-MoveRequestStatistics for a user showing as:
TotalStalledDueToWriteCpu : 00:22:36
Does this mean the move is waiting on CPU?

I used Exchange 2013 SP1+CU5 to install Edge role on Windows server 2012 R2 workgroup machine
then after installation the service "Exchange server health Service" was not starting automatically or manually with the following error "Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion"
and in the Event Viewer I have this error:
Event Id: 7003
The Microsoft Exchange Health Manager service depends on the following service: MSExchangeADTopology. This service might not be installed.

I want to set auto archive in outlook 2010 for all users in our company for about 300 users but I want a script in exchange 2010 in which do this job for me because I don't want our users be enable to disable auto archive by uncheck the check box of auto archive in outlook is there any solutions for this problem.

We migrated our resource mailboxes thru the move mailboxes in 2013 EAC but now we're at the point of decommissioning our 2007 servers. Before the actual decommission we stopped all 2007 services and dismounted all 2007 databases. Once we did this the resources would no longer work - errors pertaining to cannot directly book the resource.
I had to bring up the public folder database for the moved resources to work again. We do not use public folders any longer so we did not do any type of public folder migration. Do I need to do this for the resources to work?
We have an internal help desk app that needs to use POP3 to send acknowledgements. Everything worked fine with the previous Exchange 2010 server, but I am getting "Connection reset" from the help desk app and unexpected terminations (0x800CCC0F) from an Outlook Express client I am using to test this scenario.
The two POP3 services: the Microsoft Exchange POP3 service and the Microsoft Exchange POP3 Backend services are running.

Hello Every one,
Our mail server crasched after a fast growth of logs in the IIS which made the server to restart during the backup process.
As a result the service exchange host controller starts and stops immediately. We are unable to make a search on the client sides.
I did a rebuild of the content index folder, but didn't fix. The content index state is "Failed".
Any idea how to make the search work again ?

I recently complete the migration of my Exchange 2010 server to Exchange 2013. I then proceeded to uninstall the 2010 server using setup.com /m:uninstall. At the end of the process I received an error that it did not complete the uninstall.
I checked the server and Exchanged 2010 was removed. When I checked ECP on 2013 it still showed the old 2010 server listed. I used ADSI edit and manually removed the old sever.
Now when I log into 2013 ECP I only see the one serve but when I go into databases, none are listed. I check under the server itself and it shows the database that it is using but it is not listed under the database tab.
If I do a search under the database tab I can find it and adds it to the list. I can then open and view details.
My issue is, after I log out and then back in, I have to run the search to find the database again. In ideas on how to have it show up in the list like it did before I removed the 2010 Exchange server?

I have installed two CAS servers that clients can access from the internet for their mailbox activities. I have disabled ECP virtualdirectory through the shell using the known shell command as described here http://vbry21.wordpress.com/2013/06/25/disable-exchange-admin-center-from-the-internet/.
Then I installed an internally-accessible only CAS server solely for administration. The problem I have is that I can still access the ECP page from outside but when I login, say through a normal user account, it goes to the user's mail options. Is that normal?
According to Technet (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj218639(v=exchg.150).aspx), it is supposed to give me a 404 website not found webpage but I am suspecting this was in Exchange Server 2013 prior to SP1. My installation is with Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 OS.

Okay, I need to figure out why this is happening. We have our own domain certificate authority, and when I run a domain certificate request from any of my IIS servers, it hands out certificates just fine. But when I try to submit a request for an exchange certificate directly in the MMC, I get the following error:
"The request contains no certificate template information. 0x80094801 (-2146875391)
Denied by Policy Module: 0x80094801, The request does not contain a certificate template extension or the CertificateTemplate request attribute."
I get this same issue if I try to submit a request manually from an IIS server. It only works if I send a domain cert request through the IIS wizard.
Can someone help me fix this? I've been having this issue for years now, and I need to figure out how to make this work before I can properly troubleshoot my Exchange 2013 CAS setup. The Certificate Authority is installed on Windows Server 2012 Standard, but I've been having this issue before we upgraded the OS to this.

We have an Exchange 2007 org in one forest and an Exchange 2013 org in another forest.
User accounts remain in the 2007 AD, mailbox moved to Exchange 2013 in the other forest, so a linked mailbox.
What do I need to do in the Exchange 2007 public folders to give the migrated mailboxes (not migrated users) access to these public folders?

To save time installing our new Exchange 2013 servers we are going to install them during business hours. We currently have Exchange 2010 installed and will be migrating users later. For now we just want to get the infrastructure and the mail routing ready.
I have a few questions regarding the implementation:
1. What parts, if any, could cause disruption to users? Changing the Service Endpoints or URLs? Any potential gotchas?
2. Can we install Exchange 2013 mailbox and CAS roles, and then leave the environment alone with no further configuration without further steps, and continue to use Exchange 2010 in the meantime without disruption?

we are currently in the progress of migrating more and more customers to Exchange 2013. Now there is a limit for large Items within public folders. We do know that we have large items and it is OK to wait for the replication to be done but how can we also migrate those large items?
For instance within the public folder Migration-Request log we find:

Size: 22.69 MB (23,795,978 bytes), Folder:"PF Folder Name"
Now I'm aware of the switch -LargeItemLimit but with that we will loose those large items. I haven't found any switch to enable the move of those large items - anyone an idea to also get those items moved to modern public folders?

Our customer has two smtp domains:
1. mail.xxx.com.sa (Exchange 2013 box) and it is up and running (2 mailbox servers and 2 cas servers) - 900 mailbox
2. mail.yyy.com.sa (POP3 email hosted on the cloud) - 26 mailboxes
The customer needs us to move the 26 mailboxes one shot to their exchange 2013 box and asks about the requirements, we provided the below:
1. Create an authoritative accepted domain in exchange 2013 of mail.yyy.com.sa
2. create mailboxes in exchange with primary (reply) address @yyy.com.sa
3. Contact DNS hosting provider to configure current MX record for mail.yyy.com.sa to point to the exchange server public IP (via firewall), create and A record for Autodiscover.yyy.com.sa to point to the same exchange server public IP
If the process above is correct, I wonder if users whom emails address is @yyy.com.sa have to put xxx (exchange domain NetBIOS name)\usersname when they open outlook or web access, can they login asusername@yyy.com.sa as username as IT manager expect those users will complain why they are logging with a username from xxx domain? Also, one the MX record for mail.yyy.com.sa point to the exchange server, will they be able to browse to https://mail.yyy.com.sa/owa or they need to usehttps://mail.xxx.com.sa/owa ?

I have an organization with a mix of Exchange 2007, Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 CU1.
When, via Exchange 2013 ECP, I try to, for example, create a distribution group, and try to select the OU in which I want to create that distribution list, I cannot see all OUs (there are several domains but I can only see some OUs of each domain). At the top of the window it is open when trying to select the desired OU, I can see the following message "There are more results available than are currently displayed", but there is no option there for changing it and to see all of then, such as when you're displaying recipients.
Does someone know if it can be changed, and how?

We have a mixed environment of Exchange 2010 and 2013, due mainly to this error, it does not prevent any use of outlook or its features we just know that our users will all have a fit seeing it upon start-up of outlook so we have not completed the migration of all the mailboxes until this is resolved.
This is only appearing When exchange cache mode is enabled on outlook 2013 we get the username and password prompt and then the following error
'There is a problem with the Proxy Server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate
is invalid or does not match the name of the target site servername
Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (error code 10)'
clicking OK is the end of it, but its still a problem so we have not completed the migration of any more mailboxes other than us in IT
we are at a total loss at the moment as to why this issue is occurring, especially as with cached mode off it works perfectly with no prompt or error, could anyone point me in the correct direction to resolving this

I am in the process of setting up/configuring Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, which might change to 2013. I am looking for a plain/simple (the dummies guide) setup guide to setup the Exchange server. I am new at Exchange so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
I have a local domain called office.local.com and I want to add a few different websites for email purposes such as abcd.com and xyz.com. If you have any ideas on how to setup Exchange in this way, please post.

Exchange 2013 CU5 , Exchange Power Shell very very very slow reasponse when using get command.
First my organize has Exchange on 2 site like
site A (internet facing) : 2CAS 2 MB all are Services pack1
site B (DR Site , no user active on this site) : 2CAS 2MB all are Services pack 1
so today I upgrade Exchange 2013 from SP1 to CU5 start on "site B" and I found this issue and the details is....
When I open EMS on any CU5 for query something (like get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus) the response return very slow and some query will not return at all (like get-owavirtualdirectory).
But If I using EMS on SP1. Everything is ok then I try to use EMS on SP1 connect to CU5 and try to query something. the result is
some query command cannot return for any result that are server on siteB (just some query command)
Problem
EMS on CU5 return very slow result.
EMS on SP1 still ok.
Does anyone face this problem before for CU5??? Please help me figure this out. Thank you
