Hi members,

I cannot move mailboxes from Exchange 2007 CCR to Exchange 2013 sp1 mailbox server.I have the following error

UpdateMovedMailboxPermanentException has occurred.

My Exchange 2007 CCR was running on 2007 sp1 .Here is what I had done to migrate

Upgrade present Exchange 2007 sp1 to sp3
Apply rollup 10.
Started with Installation of new exchange 2013 sp1 on windows server 2012 r2 using setup.exe
The installation went smooth with no errors.

Iam able to open EAC and view all the exchange objects but unable to move mailboxes from 2007 to 2013.
Cannot create new mailbox from EAC.

I did not run the following

setup /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions
setup /PrepareSchema
setup /PrepareAD

I run the setup directly from setup.exe GUI and was successful in completing the wizard with no errors

Appreciate if someone can help me with this issue.

Configuring Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 virtual directories for coexistence.

I'm testing Exchange 2010/Exchange 2013 coexistence in a lab environment.  Below is the set-up:

Exchange 2010 has 2 Exchange servers.  Each server houses the CAS, mailbox and hub transport roles.  There is a DAG configured and they are installed on 2008R2 servers.

Exchange 2013 also has 2 servers.  Each server has the CAS and mailbox roles installed and there is also a DAG configured.  These Exchange servers are installed on 2012R2.

Since installing 2013, I'm struggling getting the virtual directories configured correctly for EWS, OWA etc.  Basically, I'm just looking for straight forward documentation on how the particular virtual directories should be configured for a 2010/2013 coexistence scenario.  Any help in pointing me in the right direction is appreciated.  Thanks.

Free/Busy Error from Exchange Online Cloud Mailbox to on-premise

Hi, have a successful federation configured between Exchange 2010 SP3 (latest Roll up) and Office 365. This is to allow free/busy lookups during various migration stages (this is not Exchange Hybrid). Autodiscover works well and all functions work ok.

On-premise users can see cloud users free/busy

Cloud users cannot see on-premise users free/busy.

All local based free/busy works on-premise and in the cloud.

The Exchange Connectivity tool returns the below error from all accounts, this is the only error:

(A wildcard certificate is in use and am wondering if this could be contributing to the problem as I have seen this once before)

Additional Details

Any help or guidance would be appreciated as this is the only error we receive now and everything else works.

Autodiscover not working internally

Hi

So far this has driven me crazy. I cannot seem to get this to work. I am going to try and explain the situation fully. What we have is a hosted Exchange environment where we have multiple tenants with their own domains. We have a SSL certificate for our own domain domain.com. It has the following domain names linked to it:

webmail.domain.com (Primary)
autodiscover.domain.com (SAN)
mail.domain.com (SAN)

We have multiple tenants with each a unique domain (i.e. tenant.com). We have setup CNAME records for this domains so that they point to our HTTP redirection website which in turn redirects them to our autodiscover website (= autodiscover.domain.com). This is to avoid having to buy an SSL certificate with several SAN hostnames. Our domain domain.local or domain.com (= externally) also hosts a series of other servers including terminal servers which are tenants/clients use.
The autodiscovery service works externally (which means devices that are not within our domain.local domain). It is able to use the autodiscover service for i.e. autodiscover.tenant.com Internally it does not work for some strange reason. It is able to reach the redirect website and it is able to get to the right web server hosting the autodiscover website but it fails when it tries to find the hostname autodiscover.domain.com in the SSL certificate webmail.domain.com. Even though the hostname autodiscover.domain.com is included in the SAN. It says that they can't validate the certificate name. Externally it is able to find this and validate the certificate but not internally for some strange reason. Why would this be?

Thanks again for all your help. It is much appreciated.

Exchange 2010 Internet Calendar Sharing Security

Hello,

I am in the process of turning on Internet calendar sharing. Once concern I have is security. I would like users to be able to "Subscribe to calendars from outside the company on non domain computers. However some calendars will have sensitive information that needs to be secure. I am running https however it appears you can still just guess the calendar URL, or scan for it and view the calendar. Is it possible to require logins to a calendar subscription and how do I go about that if it is?

Failure installing SP3 on Exchange 2010

Good evening,

Following TechNet closely I'm currently in the process of moving my exchange 2010 environment to 2013.  I have single exchange server on a SBS 2011 box.  Sadly I've failed at the first hurdle installing SP3, the result is that my Exchange 2010 is refusing all client connections.

During the SP3 install I passed all prerequisites but during the actual upgrade it failed at the Hub Transport Role with the following error:

Unable to send/receive mail

I have started migration from exchange 2010 to 2013. The 2013 server is up and running and I have tried to migrate two users just to see if things is working. The user migration ended successfully and both users can access their mail fra 2013 OWA and from Outlook as well, but none of then can send or receive email neither between the two 2013 users or the other 2010 users or the outside. If I try to send mail from their account, the mail goes to the sent folder, but is not delivered.

Why can't they send/receive mails, what do I miss??

Hello

I have a new domain with Exchange 2010 server. I plan to join users to this domain but would like to know the best plan in moving the existing Exchange 2003 mailboxes over. Can I just import the PST files into their new Exhaneg 2010 mailboxes or is there a better easier solution?

Thank you

Exchange 2010 Hybrid

Good day

I have an Exchange 2010 SP3 hybrid environment with Azure DirSync.   I have migrated all my mailboxes and public folders to Office 365.   I have also decommissioned one of my Exchange 2010 servers and I have one last server which I would like to decommission so that I'm on the full Office 365 suite.

What are the steps to remove the last Exchange server while still making use of DirSync to keep my AD sync'ed?   Should I upgrade the Exchange server to 2013?   If so, can I use a trial edition for this purpose?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Settin a variable using Get-Mailuser. Need to exclude accounts with a warning.

Working on a project where we needed to automated the mail-enabling of mailusers.  I also need to create a csv file after the fact that kicks out those new mail enabled objects with their LegacyExchangeDN value.

So I setup this query to get all the valid mailusers that need to be mailenabled.  Valid meaning they have the targetaddress attribute set.  Need to be mail enabled because they do not have a legacyexchangedn value.

This works except for one issue.  Some of the accounts have a leading or trailing whitespace in their display name.  That is being addressed.  But in the meantime I need to put some code together that detects the error state and doesn't include those users in the $users variable.  So I can later use that variable to create the csv file.  Thoughts?

$users = Get-mailuser -ResultSize unlimited -OrganizationalUnit "domain.COM/Accounts/Users" `

-Filter {ExternalEmailAddress -ne $null} | ?{$_.legacyexchangeDN -eq ""}

Hello,

I have not found much information about moving Resource mailboxes and Contacts to Exchange 2013 (from Exchange 2007 or 2010).

How this is done? There is nothing in EAC. Is that done by using EMS with New-MoveRequest?

Or do we have to create those from scratch?

Exchange 2013 Legacy users cannot access OWA

Hi

I am migrating from ex2007 to ex2013 and users on ex2007 cannot access OWA via thehttps://mobile/owa but can access OWA via https://legacy/owa. The legacy users get an 500 error when using mobile/owa. Ex2013 can access OWA usinghttps://mobile/owa just fine

It appears that exchange 2013 is not redirecting to the legacy mailboxes.
I have created internal and external DNS records that point to the legacy email server
I have created a tmg publishing rule for the legacy host name
I have configured DNS records that point mobile.contoso.com to the new exchange 2013 server
I have configured OWA on the exchange 2007 OW virtual directory with the namespace  legacy.contoso.com/owa

Can anyone tell what else I can check?

I have posted question on other resources as I running short of ideas

Cheers

Public folder migration cannot complete due to StalledDueToMailboxLock status

I'm on one of my last steps in migrating from 2010 to 2013.  When I issue the command to  Resume the migration request after the Autosuspend happens, I get a StalledDueToMailBoxLock, and it retries but never completes.  I've removed the request and tried it again, but I get the same thing.  The requests were 24 hours apart.  I have no clients that are connecting to the 2010 server anymore, and all the user mailboxes have been migrated to 2013 successfully.  I haven't found much online about this status, so I'm at a loss.  By the way, this is during my Public Folder migration process.  Sorry for leaving that out.

Thank you.
