MSExchange Availability 4002 Event ID Errors

Hi,

We have recently installed a new Exchange 2013 server alongside with Exchange 2010. Everything seems to be good apart from the Exchange 2010 Server keeps logging these errors against the Exchange 2013 Server:

<snip>

Process 6664: ProxyWebRequest IntraSite from S-1-5-21-948088689-1237437970-3311499710-1759 to https://ex-mb1.internal.local:444/ews/exchange.asmx failed. Caller SIDs: NetworkCredentials. </snip>

I was reading on some forums before posting this and someone resolved a Event ID 4002 by running this command on the Exchange 2010 Server:

Get-ClientAccessServer | Add-ADPermission -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights "ms-Exch-EPI-Token-Serialization" -User "MyDomain.com\Exchange Servers"

Question is.. do you recommend that running this would fix the issue? Am I right in doing it?

Any other thoughts would be welcome if I am off track with that..

Mailbox Move stuck on StatusDetail Relinquished

Hi,

I am trying to do mailbox moves from Exchange 2010 SP3 to Exchange 2013 CU5. This morning they were working great for a few users with no issues. Mailboxes were about 1GB.

Now when I move a mailbox it goes into a StatusDetail of Relinguished and does not proceed past 0%

What does this status mean? Should i restart the Mailbox Replication Service? I was not sure about restarting the service as I have live users and dont want to disconnect them from their mailboxes..

Please help..

How can we filter the mails on Subjectwise on Dynamic distribution list in Exchange 2010

Is it possible to setup  a Dynamic DL  DL such that only specific mails (based on subject etc) are routed to a particular mailbox?

Exchange 2007 to 2013 Migration issues. Apps not working

Exchange 2013 Migration issues

Environment:
Mixed 2007 SP3 R12 and 2013 CU3. 2007 Environment was webmail.domain.com. I installed new Exchange 2013 (1 CAS, 1 Mailbox) according to:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff805032(v=exchg.150).aspx. Exchange 2007 is now legacy.domain.com and Exchange 2013 CAS is webmail.domain.com.
Machine 1: Windows 8.1, not domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere external. Outlook 2013
Machine 2: Windows 7, domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere internal. Outlook 2010 SP2

I have migrated 1 user so far to Exchange 2013.

ISSUE

Apps. Installed by default are 4 apps (Bing Maps, Suggested Meetings, Unsubscribe, Action Items). I have made sure the apps are enabled in OWA and they show up in mail items on both Machine 1 (Outlook 2013) and OWA. They do not show up in Machine 2 (Outlook 2010). I'm assuming that isn't supported.
In OWA, when I go to the installed apps listing it shows all of the apps but has a broken link on the image describing the app.
When I click the app in either Outlook 2013 or in OWA, I get "APP ERROR, Sorry we can't load the app. Please make sure you have network and/or internet connectivity. Click "Retry" once you're back online.
Current workaround is just disabling them through OWA.

New-MailboxImportRequest Job Poisoned

$

I am importing PST files using New-MailBoxImportRequest in Exchange 2013, and I am consistently getting the following from two specific PSTs:

FailureCode                            : -2146233088
FailureType                            : JobIsPoisonedPermananentException
FailureSide                            :
Message                                : Error: Job is poisoned, poison count = 6.

There were actually three PSTs that returned this error, but one of them imported fine when I retried.  The other two fail so consistently that it seems like a user mailbox issue and not a PST issue (although this isn't 100% definitive).  I came to that conclusion after the following discoveries:

1) Performing a repair on these PSTs using SCANPST.EXE did not resolve the issue
2) Larger PSTs have imported fine (even to the same user mailbox)
3) Splitting these PSTs makes no difference (each is an archive, and I manually dragged the Inbox and Sent folders to separate newly created PSTs, when those failed the same way, I archived just a small portion of the data from those split PSTs into a new archive PST, importing it also failed)

I also tried the following commands, and still got the same error when trying to import the same PSTs again afterwards:

New-MailboxRepairRequest -Mailbox <user> -CorruptionType ProvisionedFolder
New-MailboxRepairRequest -Mailbox <user> -CorruptionType FolderView

Searching the net (and this forum) didn't turn up anything at all for me.  Can anyone tell me what I should do next / how I should troubleshoot and/or fix this problem?

Exchange 2013, Windows Server 2012 R2, Database Availability Group, Failover Cluster issue.

Hi,

My current mail Infrastructure: 1 Exchange 2010 SP3 and 2 Exchange 2013 SP1 servers with Mailbox and Client Access role. The latter have DAG/failover cluster.

When one 2013 node goes down the databases become active on the second node which means DAG/failover is working fine but my outlook clients and OWA clients all fail to connect. I'm guessing it is because I have set my public DNS url to point to Node 1.

If I were to install another Exchange 2013 server with just the client access role and point my public IP address and MX record to it would my clients always connect to the mailbox on either Node1 or 2 which ever server is active in the failover cluster? Hope that makes sense. Your help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Gurpiar

Multi-tenant - Address Book Policy Routing Agent

Have setup a test multi-tenant environment and implemented the ABP Routing Agent as per the Microsoft guidelines in order that contact details of other tenants cannot be resolved when sending between tenants. The Address Book Policies themselves are working correctly and tenants only see their own GAL etc, however when sending to another tenant, instead of their details appearing as an external address, they are being 'resolved' and all contact information visible in Sent Items for instance. I was under the impression that the ABP Routing Agent should get around this issue? Thanks.

New Exchange 2013 Server Install Unhealthy

I have just run the Office 365 On-Premises analyser for Exchange 2013 and it has highlighted loads of alert errors on a brand new installation! I am not sure if the tool is just rubbish because in BETA or if I need to address these issues before placing in production. The following things have been highlighted:

Application pool 'MSExchangeOWAAppPool' on server 'EX2013' is configured to run under the wrong identity. 'MSExchangeOWAAppPool' should run under the 'Local System' identity

The health alert value of 'MaintenanceFailureMonitor.FEP' on exchange server 'EX2013' is 'Unhealthy', that may cause some special unhealthy state of the server

The health alert value of 'DatabaseHealthCircLoggingMonitor' on exchange server 'EX2013' is 'Unhealthy', that may cause some special unhealthy state of the server

The health alert value of 'WacDiscoveryFailureEventMonitor' on exchange server 'EX2013' is 'Unhealthy', that may cause some special unhealthy state of the server

Anyone else seen these errors on a DEFAULT install of Exchange 2013? I am surprised 'out the box' to be seeing so many errors!

Problems with Outlook 2013 and Windows 8.1 with Exchange 2013

Hello Guys,

I just got started with testing Exchange 2013. My lab consists of 2 Exchange 2013 Servers, the Installation Media is the Exchange 2013 SP1 from MSDN, Server 2012 R2 and 2 Windows 8.1 Clients with Office 2013 SP 1 with all updates installed. I have configured some mailboxes in Exchange and I want now to configure Outlook. So at the initial startup Outlook displays the correct Name and Mail Address. When I click next I make it to Logging on the mail server and then I am getting the Error : The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Your Network adapter does not have a default Gateway. All servers are in the network 192.168.5.0 /24. Any suggestions how can I fix this problem ?

Thank you

Which version of Exchange should Autodiscover point to?

We have recently installed Exchange 2013 along-side our existing Exchange 2010 but I have a quick question relating to the AutoDiscover URL.

Which version of Exchange should I point autodiscover.domain.com to? If I point it to the Exchange 2013 will this affect anyone on the Exchange 2010 Server?

OWA Problem - works internally, incorrectly redirects when used externally.

Hi, Everyone.

I think I've got a strange one here.  Exchange 2013, CU5.  OWA and ECP both work correctly internally.  ECP works correctly from machines outside my firewall.  OWA fails from clients outside my firewall.

Externally, FireFox shows that OWA's trying to redirect to:  https://internalservername.domain.local:444/owa/auth/errorFE.aspx?httpCode=404

Externally, IE just says this page can't be displayed (URL shown is https://mail.companyname.com/owa/?authRedirect=true)

get-owavirtualdirectory -server servername | fl *URL* returns:

internalurl:  https://mail.companyname.com/owa  (looks correct)

externalurl: https://mail.companyname.com/owa  (looks correct)

Anyone have any suggestions about where I can start to diagnose this?

Loading Balaning Not Working Correctly - F5

We have deployed Exchange 2013 Sp1 with CU5 and have configured it for SSL offloading per this Microsoft article:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635115(v=exchg.150).aspx

We have installed the certificate on all of our Exchange 2013 servers (5 combined CAS/Mailbox servers) that we are using on our F5 load balancer.

The problem is, if we have more than just one server active in the load balancing pool, you can't login via Outlook web.  It looks like it's going to log you in. but then immediately kicks you back to the login screen.  If we just have one server in the load balancing pool, you can login and everything works as it should.

We have a case open with F5, but they seem to think they have only seen this problem when the SSL certificate doesn't match across all of the nodes.  but in our case it does.  I have escalated the case to see if they can troubleshoot more.  but is there something more I need to do besides what is in the article above?  We have all of our URLs set correctly on all nodes.

I tried bypassing the load balancer and trying to use DNS round robin as a test, but HTTP headers confirmed I was only getting kept on one node once I attempted to login.

We are using F5 load balancers and setting up the configuration via the latest version of their Exchange iApp template.
