EWS Authentication Issue - Need Some Help

$

Hello,

We are migrating from on premise Exchange 2010 to Office 365 (exchange online) and the platform that we are using to do the migration basically connects to the mailboxes and makes a copy of email so that we don't have any downtime.

In order to connect, the software uses the EWS login which is something like https://domain/ews/exchange.asmx

We can connect and we get a login box but when we enter any user's credentials, it will just go to a blank page and thus the software cannot do anything either.

Anyone have any clues as to what could be happening with this authentication and where to look???

Outlook attempts connection to old Exchange server - even for new accounts

$

Scenario:

Client contacted me to implement Exchange 2013 in their existing organisation.

Old server is Exchange 2007 installed on a Windows 2003 x64 server

The old server is also a Domain Controller (the only DC)

A UC certificate has been purchased & installed on the new server.

All clients are running Outlook 2010

Problem:

The problem is that after moving mailboxes - the outlook client still attempts to connect to the Old server.

A new user with a new mailbox created on the New Exchange 2013 has the same issue, autodiscover resolves OK, but the SSL error that is presented shows the self-signed cert on the old server.

Accessing the mailbox via OWA is OK indicating that the mailbox is working & mail flow is OK (all mail is routed via the Exchange 2013)

Running "Get-ClientAccessServer |fl identity, autodiscoverserviceinternaluri" on the Exchange 2013 gives the correcthttps://autodiscover.domain.com.au/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml for the Exchange server and reports https://oldserver.domain.local/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xmlfor the old server.

There is a DNS zone to the domain.com.au on the internal DNS server and there is an entry for autodiscover that resolves to the Exchange 2013 server.

Backup ArcServe Exchange 2013 Document Level

$

We are in an hybrid environment of Exchange OnPremises and Exchange Online and in the OnPremises environment we have cohexistence of Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013.

As a backup solution we have CA Arcserve Backup, that allow us to make a backup in document level of the exchange 2013 mailboxes.

We still can´t do the backup document level. In the logs files from the ca agent installed in the server, we found some MAPI errors.

We followed all the articles bellow, but without success.

We had a remote support from CA and they told us that we are facing a problem on the Exchange Server.

We ran the Test-MapiConectivity that returns Success.

Below of the links, follow the logs, if someone could help-me to diagose the MAPI on Exchange 2013, I will be vary glad.

2007 to 2013 mailbox migration - Outlook 2010 Search folders stop syncing read/unread status of e-mails.

We've noticed that after migrating a mailbox from 2007 to 2013, any search folders in the user's Outlook 2010 client still work but they no longer sync the read/unread status of mail items.  If we read an unread item, the search folder continues to display it as unread.  The workaround is to delete and re-create the search folder.  Any ideas?

Unable to access Exchange 2013 EAC/ECP webpage

Hi All,

Getting extremely frustrated now with a new Exchange 2013 installation on a Windows Server 2012 VM...

After having a lot of problems with the installation (didn't uninstall visual c++ which caused failure, then needed to delete the AD Microsoft Exchange System Objects group due to permission failures, etc) I've now got a fully installed Exchange server. Still, now I cannot figure out how to fix my next problem - Accessing the EAC/ECP.

I've searched every possible web guide/forum thread and the only one which is the same issue I'm having is this one: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/89c42771-78c9-4d94-88e5-557320eccc71

Unfortunately, as you can see in that thread, it is still unresolved.

Current Issue: trying to access https://localhost/ecp (or any other variation) returns a 404 Not Found.

The error page points the physical path to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ecp however that folder does not exist. I have tried manually changing the IIS site (Exchange Back End) to point its physical path to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\ecp which seems to be valid, however it doesn't work...

Not sure what else to do... HELP!

Migrating Public Folders from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013

$

Hi,

I am just finishing migrating from SBS2011 with Exchange 2010 to Server 2012 Standard with Exchange 2013.

The problem I am having is when I run the New-MigrationBatch script on the 2012 server to begin migration of public folders from the SBS2011 Server.

I have followed this https://technet.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/jj150486(v=exchg.150).aspx

I run this cmdlet New-MigrationBatch -Name PFMigration -SourcePublicFolderDatabase (Get-PublicFolderDatabase -Server sbserver) -CSVData (Get-Content C:\PFMigration\folder-to-mailbox.csv -Encoding Byte) -NotificationEmails

I then get this error

A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'SourcePublicFolderDatabase'.
    + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (:) [New-MigrationBatch], ParameterBindingException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NamedParameterNotFound,New-MigrationBatch
    + PSComputerName        : server2.domain.local

I have tried changing this to direct public folder database name but I still get errors.

Can anybody shed any light as to what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance

Need help on this.

E2013 CU8 + E2007 CU13

Owa works fine for both migrated and non migrated mailbox

Outlook anywhere works only for migrated (externally) and work for both internally (pointing CAS2013).

Externally I'm not able to connect to non-migrated mailbox with OA (Outlook 2010 and 2013) - error say exchange is not connected.

On CAS 2007 I got this

2015-05-11 21:41:00 W3SVC1 10.120.10.9 HEAD /Autodiscover - 443 - 10.120.10.91 HttpProxy.ClientAccessServer2010Ping 401 2 2148074254 on a non migrated user attempting to connect through outlook.

Virtual Dir are ok

Providers on Authenticatio Backend\Rpc is ok

Got any idea..

really appreciate.

Exchange Online Setup

Hi, I have just got Exchange Online for one email I need synchronized on 2x computers. However, I am having trouble getting it setup. I have confirmed ownership of our domain name, and then added the email address to the 2x computers outlooks. Changes are synchronizing within Outlook as I had hoped :)

However, I am unable to send or receive emails from this email from within Outlook? There must be a setting I am missing, but I can't find this.

UPDATE: I can send to external emails, just not to internal emails (ie. same domain name).

After Reboot of Clean Server 2012 Install noted = Successful SetUp - WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination. The content type is absent or invalid.

kb3031133 didn't work for me -- mailbox migration from 2007 is still creating a duplicate contacts folder

Hello,

We applied kb3031133 with hopes of preventing the migration process from duplicating our Contacts folders when migrating mailboxes (it creates a second, empty Contacts folder).  We installed CU8, rebooted, and migrated another mailbox.  The contacts folder was duplicated again.  Any ideas?

They have move some mailbox to Exchange 2013 and thier Outlook clients are configured with the opción "Connectusing SSL only" disabled. I know that the client is configured with autodiscover service of the Exchange Server but the question is, how can be configured in order the clients are configured to use HTTPS for connections?

Exchange 2013: Users disconnected from outlook whenever second CAS server is shutdown.

$

We are migrating from an exchange Server 2007 infrastructure to exchange 2013.

Our 2013 setups consits of two mailbox servers and two separate CAS servers running exchange 2013 CU8 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Whenever the active node is shut down the databases fail over to the other server in the DAG. No issues with this.

The issue is that whenever I shut down the second CAS server, all users get disconnected from outlook. It will either say disconnected, limited connectivity or just "trying to reconnect" which it never does until I bring that second CAS server back online.

But Outlook Web stays connected just fine at all times. So the issue is with the desktop client. All the virtual directories are pointing to the right URL( the load balancer VIP)

I've compared the settings/roles/services between both CAS servers and everything is exactly the same.

I'm at wit's end and hoping for some answers from some of the more knowledgeable and experienced members of this community.

DNS, Disjoint Namespace, Certificates and Service URLs

$

This whole deployment has my head twisted.  We currently have an Exchange 2010 deployment that is completely misconfigured and I am wanting to solve the issues with the 2013 migration.  Here is what has me boggled:

Our internal domain is domain.int, our NETBIOS domain name is domain and our external domain is domain.org. Does this classify as having a disjoint namespace?

Our internal DNS forward lookup zone only contains the records for .int, not .org.  If we do classify as having a disjoint namespace and we do add the .org DNS suffix to the Exchange and AD servers, are we still required to host our external domain records internally?

If our engineers are wanting to keep the external records out of our internal DNS, is it possible to cut a mail.domain.int cert from our internal CA and a mail.domain.org cert from a third party CA and assign services accordingly?

I would appreciate any feedback that you can provide.  I am really stumped at this point.  Thank you in advance,

Lotus Notes to Exchange 2013 Migration using Quest Co-existence Manager

$

I have some queries for anyone who has used Quest Co-existence Manager for Migrating Lotus Notes to Exchange 2013

Case:

Source: Lotus Notes with Notes client v 9.0.  Notes directory and not integrated with AD

Target: Exchange 2013

Co-existence tool: Quest Co-existence Manager

Queries :

Could users have active mailbox in both Exchange and Notes environment?

If yes then how would the mail flow work and would the mailbox and user calendar be in sync?

Could users use Lotus Notes IMAP client to connect to exchange 2013 for mail , Outlook to connect Exchange 2013, and Lotus Notes normal client to connect Domino servers for application access on the same desktop?

Any known issues or risks?

Is this a MS supported and recommended scenario?

I would appreciate if any documentation from Microsoft available for similar cases

Unable to Re-install Exchange 2013 in the same server

$

Hi,

I was trying to upgrade Exchange environment from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. I installed Exchange 2013 in Windows 2012 R2 Server and migrated test mailbox, Later I updated Exchange CU7 but it left with OWA, ECP inaccessible. Later troubleshooting also made Powershell to inaccessible. So i decided to remove Exchange 2013 completely & I end up removing manually from ADSIEDIT since clean uninstall not allowing. I performed below steps while remove the exchange.

1. In AD i Removed this new Exchange 2013 server from Configuration partition using ADSIEDIT.

2. I removed the database associated to 2013 server through ADSIEDIT

3. Removed IIS and its directories from Exchange server

4. Removed the Exchange server directory

5. Removed Exchange server registry under hklm\Softwares\Exchange servers and all Exchange services from services registry as well.

6. I also removed migration mailbox user account from Active directory.

now when i tried re-installing, its failing with "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" message and Event 4027 error (MSExchangeADAccess) in logs.

Any suggestion/help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Karthikeyan R
