Exchange 2013 - 2010 OWA issue

$

0

Hello

We have the following environment:

One CAS/HT/Mailbox Exchange 2010 SP3 UR8v2 hosted at Site A with internet access.

Two Exchange 2013 CU7 , one CAS, one Mailbox located at Site B with independent internet access.

All users access OWA by the URL https://webmail.domain.com/owa

We want to configure OWA coexistence, so we changed the DNS entries in order that webmail points to the Exchange 2013 CAS Server and also published the Exchange 2013 server from site A, because an App Firewall resides only in this site.

When we try to access OWA with a user that is hosted in Exchange 2013, everything it's ok. The strange behavior is detailed below:

1. When we try to access OWA with a user hosted in Exchange 2010 from site A, OWA shows in blank

2. When we try to access OWA with a user hosted in Exchange 2010 from site B, OWA shows a HTTP 500 error.

3. When we try to access OWA with a user hosted in Exchange 2010 externally, OWA shows in blank

We verified all the settings, reviewed the IIS logs but couldn't find a clue to solve this issue.

Any experience or suggestion is welcome!

Regards.

We are planning to upgrade our exchange server from 2007 to 2013 and I have been asked whether its possible to generate a message to all external emails that may email at this time an automated message stating that the server is currently unavailable. I understand that there is downtime so therefore unlikely.

Hi,

In my environment two exchange server’s existing in DAG

Both server’s mailbox & CAS role running with exchange 2013.

One exchange server running in physical hardware and another one is running in virtual.

We have planned to covert physical exchange server to virtual(Hyper-V) with same Hostname and IP Address.

Normally follows below procedure.

  1. P2V for exchange (Not recommended Microsoft)
  2. Build new server and install, configure exchange.

My query is

I have planned to shutdown existing physical exchange server and remove from network.

Then plan to build new server OS with same configuration and Recover an Exchange Serverwith following command.

Setup /m:RecoverServer /IacceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

For exchange server recover please refer the below URL.

Questions about Hybrid Migration

Hello, Guys!
I will move my mailbox from Exchange Server 2013 CU5 to Office 365 and i was studying about this migration.
First, sorry for my bad english. I'm brazilian.
1 - I have some Department Mailboxes, for example: HR, Support. I want transform it to SHARED Mailbox. How can i migrate my mailbox to Shared Mailbox? Is possible?

2 - i'll use ONLY Microsoft AADSync and not ADFS. What's difference between use ADFS + AADSync and only AADSync in hybrid environment?

3 - I read that is needed to import a third-party certificate on Exchange Server 2013 Servers before run Hybrid Config. Have any step-by-step of how to do that? What is pre-requisite about certificate in hybrid migration?

THANKS!!

Federation Trust setup exchange 2013

Hi Guys

i am new to federation trust setup. Basically i have a client that has had to split up into two seperate organizations each with their own exchange 2013 server and Domain etc.

However they want to be able to share calendars etc still so i thought a federation trust would be the best option here.I ran the federation trust wizard on each server and that was fine however when i go to add an organization to share a relationship with i get the error "Federation information could not be received from the external organisation"

Get-FederationInformation -DomainName there4u.org.au -verbose on the exchange server i get the error

Federation information could not be received from the external organization.

I get this same error when running the command on the headspacerockhampton.com.au exchange server

Any help urgently would be appreciated

EAC/ECP Authentication redirection failure

$

All,

I have two separate implementations of Exchange 2013/Server 2012 posting the same issue. When logging into ECP, the login page is displayed correctly. The url is shown correctly (edited for security).

https://localhost/ecp/?ExchClientVer=15; Accept the cetificate mismatch warning, go to the EAC login page,

https://localhost/owa/auth/logon.aspx?replaceCurrent=1&url=https%3a%2f%2flocalhost%2fecp%2f%3fExchClientVer%3d15 .

Note that OWA handles the authentication (https://localhost/owa/auth/logon.aspx) but redirects the authentication results back to the ECP page (?replaceCurrent=1&url=https%3a%2f%2flocalhost%2fecp%2f%3fExchClientVer%3d15). When the credentials are entered, the user is authenticated correctly but the redirect does not process and the user is logged into the OWA page (https://mail.domain.net/owa/#path=/mail). Also note that the primary address is changed from localhost to the public url for OWA.

In each instance, there are other Exchange servers that login correctly to ECP. The other servers are dedicated CAS role where the servers having the issue are all in one servers. I suspect this is an IIS issue but I would appreciate any input.

Exchange 2013 Proxy Addresses

Hi,

We have moved most of our users to Office365 and decomissioned our old Exchange 2007 system, however, the company wishes to have a small Exchange server in house for some other business email. Using an IIS relay has caused issues due to the load on it.

As our users are in Office365 and have proxy addresses for mail.onmicrosoft.com in their AD attributes and as I am not totally familar with Exchange, my question is:

Will installing Exchange 2013 again here in our company AD environment have any knock on affect on these proxy addresses or break anything for the users currently using Office365?

Cheers,

Not sure what it is. The server is running Server 2012 R2 and it is a VM. It has exchange and associated necessary features, roles, and prerequisites and nothing else installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Exchange 2013 CU7 3 times and each time this error has been present. It happens twice at boot and seems to cause no problems.

Hello,

I am installing Exchange 2013 as part of a 2007 Upgrade / Migration.

I've upgraded our 2013 server to CU9 and have enabled MessageCopyForSentAsEnabled and MessageCopyForSendOnBehalfEnabled. Now I see the following warnings in the application log of the Exchange server

All works well, can I ignore this message?

Licensing Confusion

Hi,

I have a client that is looking to install Exchange 2013 and posted a question to me that had me baffled. They want to have two servers in HA (Client Access, Mailbox, and Hub Transport on each server with failover for each role). 1200 Mailboxes and 750 client devices on the network.

The confusion for me comes when they said that only 550 of these client devices would typically connect to Exchange so they suggested that they only need 550 device CALs.

I may be mistaken but wouldn't you need 750 CALs since potentially 750 clients can connect to the Exchange server? Or is it a case where you only need to have the number of CALs for the amount of devices that will be connecting?

Krisna

ok so i ran the CU9 update yesterday morning, was upgrading from CU6.

using the GUI went thought all the copy files and when is was doing the domain prep it failed and only after a day of looking at the logs i can say why. deleted publicfolderdatabase error 2937 is reported in the application logs and in the exchange setup logs it reports [ERROR] You don't have permissions to read the security descriptor on CN=Deleted Objects,DC=XXXXXXXXXX,DC=com

ok so i have a problem and need to recreate the public folder database?

but the big problem was when using the GUI for the install it turns the transport queues to inactive!!!!! this is before it's done any testing and if it fails then it doesn't turn them back on!!! oh no, reboot and still inactive!

ok so i did the upgrade at 5am on a friday probably not the best idea, but was done and when it failed i thought i'd look at the logs and do the upgrade after i'd figured out what was going wrong.

rebooted the server and exchange looks like its up and running, opens outlook and send a couple of emails, then i notice that the mails are stuck in the outbox!

get-queue

and see that there are no queues!! everyone is starting to come in the office and outlook opens fine but you cant send or receive emails. couldn't find anything on the net so had to call MS , took them about 2 minutes to sort it!!!!!!!

Get-ServerComponentState XXXXXXXXX

everything set to inactive

Set-ServerComponentState -Component ServerWideOffline -Identity XXXX -Requester Functional -State Active
Set-ServerComponentState -Component HubTransport -Identity XXXX -Requester Functional -State Active
Set-ServerComponentState -Component FrontendTransport -Identity XXXXX -Requester Functional -State Active
Set-ServerComponentState -Component MapiProxy -Identity XXXXX -Requester Functional -State Active
Get-ServerComponentState XXXXX

everything working again!!!!!!!!

if you do the command line setup /PrepareAD /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms this doesnt take the queues offline

so i have a call back from MS this morning to go though the setup of CU9 but i know now that it's the publicfolder database thats the problem, question is how do i recreate it?

Exchange 2010 on a DC, old DC's decomissioned, SACL showing an error

Hi,

Hope someone can help.

We've inherited an Exchange 2010 server, which is unfortunately installed on a DC.

We have decommissioned our old 2003 DC's and put in 2 new Server 2012 DC's at this site.

Exchange is now complaining :

Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchange SACL Watcher
Date: 26/06/2015 16:33:43
Event ID: 6003
Task Category: General
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: EXCHANGE.DOMAIN.COM
Description:
SACL Watcher servicelet encountered an error while monitoring SACL change.
Got error 1722 opening group policy on system DC1.domain.com in domain domain

I have investigated and run the following command : Get-ADServerSettings, however, no servers (none) are listed here.

I believe a re-start of the Exchange server is a good first thing to try, which I will do, however, if this does not yield any results, what do you think I should set the preferred DC to. Itself or to one of the new DC's?

What issues could I be running into either way?

Thanks very much
