Creating a Migration Endpoint issue - 2010 to 2013

$

Hi guys,

I have a exc 2010/hosting and I will migrate it to the 2013. The trust is ok and the first part of the script worked fine. ./PrepareMoveRequest.

Now I need to create the migration endpoint but I got some issues on it. Both has a valid 3 party cert. I added all information on the fields but I received a message saying that:

"

We couldn't detect your server settings. Please enter them. AutoDiscover failed with a configuration error: The migration service failed to detect the migration endpoint using the Autodiscover service. Please enter the migration endpoint settings or go back to the first step and retry using the Autodiscover service. Consider using the Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer ‎(https://testexchangeconnectivity.com)‎ to diagnose the connectivity issues.

Remote MRS proxy server:
The FQDN of the Exchange server that the Mailbox Replication Service (MRS) Proxy is on.

"

So I provided this FQDN and it still didn't work.

The test https://lab2010.host/EWS/mrsproxy.svc is fine also.

It's gonna use the same domain on the destiny so during the migration process I've created a subdomain "migra.domain"

Do you have any idea about it?

Exchange 2007 to 2013 Migration issues. Apps not working

Exchange 2013 Migration issues

Environment:
Mixed 2007 SP3 R12 and 2013 CU3. 2007 Environment was webmail.domain.com. I installed new Exchange 2013 (1 CAS, 1 Mailbox) according to:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff805032(v=exchg.150).aspx. Exchange 2007 is now legacy.domain.com and Exchange 2013 CAS is webmail.domain.com.
Machine 1: Windows 8.1, not domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere external. Outlook 2013
Machine 2: Windows 7, domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere internal. Outlook 2010 SP2

I have migrated 1 user so far to Exchange 2013.

ISSUE

Apps. Installed by default are 4 apps (Bing Maps, Suggested Meetings, Unsubscribe, Action Items). I have made sure the apps are enabled in OWA and they show up in mail items on both Machine 1 (Outlook 2013) and OWA. They do not show up in Machine 2 (Outlook 2010). I'm assuming that isn't supported.
In OWA, when I go to the installed apps listing it shows all of the apps but has a broken link on the image describing the app.
When I click the app in either Outlook 2013 or in OWA, I get "APP ERROR, Sorry we can't load the app. Please make sure you have network and/or internet connectivity. Click "Retry" once you're back online.
Current workaround is just disabling them through OWA.

Access Public folders on Exchange 2007 from Exchange 2013 OWA

Hi

I am migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. During coexistence is it possible to access Public folder on Exchange 2007 from Exchange 2013 OWA. Test users are migrated on Exchange 2013 but PF are still on Exchange 2007. Migrated users on Exchange 2013 can access to PF on Exchange 2007 from Outlook.

Concurrent mailbox moves from Exchange 2007 to 2013

We are in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. We have about 200 mailboxes and we want to move them in groups of 40-50 at a time. I am trying to get more then 1 mailbox to actually sync to the new database at once.

I start the batch with 49 mailboxes but only 1 mailbox is showing any progress when I go to details. They all have a status of "syncing" but only one has any "items synced".

I have run multiple articles about increasing concurrent migrations from 2007 to 2010 and 2010 to 2013 and they all mention going to MsExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config on the destination server and setting the “MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB" value to something larger. By default 2013 has it set to 20 would should be more than enough  for me. However despite this setting I still only see 1 mailbox syncing at a time.

Is there someplace I should be making a similar change on the 2007 box? I can't find a file with that name so I am not sure if there is something to change or if it's even needed.

Why is this not working? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Migration Icewarp > Exchange On-Premises

Greetings,

I am currently planning a migration from Icewarp to Exchange 2013 on-premises, ~1500 users. Is there a way to perform this without recurring to third party tools? If not, can anyone point out a free tool to be used, as the customer will not approve additional costs to the project.

I've looked everywhere on the web and I seem to be unable to find any information on this.

Please help.

Thanks.

Exchange 2007 to 2013 multisite migration

Hi All,

Let me explain my current architecture:

Site A: 1 Exchange 2007 HUB/CAS and 1 Exchange 2007 MBX

SiteB: Same as site A

Site C: 1 Exchange 2013 CAS and 1 Exchange 2013 Mailbox server

Basically I have to consolidate the exchange 2007 infrastructure into the exchange 2013 migrating the mailboxes.

Said this, right now i can see all mailboxes from the 2013 and the mail flow is working.

My question is related to the auto discovery service.

In Site A the SCP is pointing the fqdn of the 2007 HUB/CAS in site A

In Site B the SCP is pointing the fqdn of the 2007 HUB/CAS in site B

Is gonna be right if i change the SCP pointing the new Exchange 2013 CAS on site C?

Moreover, i tried to configure from site B a test mailbox which resides in exchange 2013 and outlook said that cannot access to server, i think because the exchange 2007 CAS cannot dialog properly with the exchange 2013 mailbox server, is this correct?

Thanks,

Cheers,

Dario

Hi,

does anybody have any links to good sites that gives some pros/cons when it comes to the mailbox database sizes in exchange 2013? I've tried to google it - but hasn't found any good answers. I would like to know if I really need more than 5 mailbox databases or not on my exchange environment.

Problem Uninstalling Exchange 2013 CU3 CAS, Failed remove Language Files

Hello Everyone

I have problem Uninstalling Exchange 2013 CU3, process stuck on removing language files and throws exception:

" was run: "Cannot remove the item at 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\' because it is in use.".

At this moment Exchange 2013 is in coexistence with exchange 2010, bellow you can see what servers are deployed:

Exchange 2013

2 x Mailbox/CAS servers; 2 x CAS servers (both of them I want to uninstall and I have similar problem)

Exchange 2010

3 x Mailbox Server; 2 x Hub/CAS Servers.

I tried next troubleshooting steps:

  1. Repair installation of Exchange 2013 Cu3
  2. Added Mailbox Role to the same server and then tried to uninstall both roles but result was the same
  3. Tried to remove from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v15\Language Packs\Client" registry Key but result was the same.(then returned from backup)
  4. I checked other Exchange Servers and those server are removed from exchange server list
  5. I checked active directory with ADSI edit in CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group\*  and there Cas server are also removed.
  6. In Exchangesetup.log there is nothing intereseing beside od the error that is thrown after uninstall

I would like to know:

how to check that exchange server is completely uninstalled from AD and if so can I just delete this exchange servers ?

Thank you in advance

Here is error that I recieve

Certificate errors with Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2013

$

Hello, I wonder if someone could help.

I've recently set up a network with one Windows 2012 domain controller and one windows 2012 server running Exchange 2013.

Clients run Outlook 2013 and are all one the same Lan. Outlook's setup wizard finds the exchange server automatically and sets up the profile. However if I choose the manual setup and enter the server name and user name it does not find the server.

When I check the server name in Outlook it shows as 85ccec8e-71b6-43bf-8aff-8e96943ed3be@ardfernyacht.co.uk rather than the real name of the server: AYCEX01.AYC.local.

When Outlook is opened there is a certificate error saying "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site." and another error saying "There is a problem with the server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site mail.ardfernyacht.co.uk. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error code 10)

The external address by which users connect to OWA and active sych is mail.ardfernyacht.co.uk. The
certificate which is used is one automatically generated by Exchange.

Any suggestions you may have would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ruaridh

Dear Experts,

I have to configure exchange 2013 on Windows server 2012 STD. Company has registered Static IP addresses and can get the MX record pointing to any of this Static IP.

The registered domain name is e.g.  contoso.com.

a. What should I use as domain name on AD? contoso.com or contoso.local

b. Is it recommended to have two different servers  for AD and Exchange?

c. What should be my connector settings for mail flow?

d. how can I set 2 email servers in company for load balancing?

Hi Friends,

I would like to provide email services to our partner company(different forest). Please share your views/suggestion to provide SSO to Partner company users for email access (OWA, Exchange Activesync, Outlook Anywhere, Exchange online, for all Email related services)

Overview :

Own Company (Forest 1): Exchange 2010

Partner Company(Forest 2) : Exchange 2003

Requirement : Need to migrate Partner company users mailbox to own company exchange 2010 server. Migrated email box need to be access by partner company users using their own AD authentication (SSO).

Is this requiremet can be met by ADFS 2.0? or any other possiblities.

Please help me by sharing your recommendations.

Access to all mailboxes not working after migration from Exchange 2010

I had full permissions on everyone's mailbox before I migrated from Exchange 2010 to 2013. Even though I see my username as having full permissions on all mailboxes  I cannot open any mailbox besides my own. I also can't open other mailboxes with the domain admin account.

Any ideas?
