Hi All,

I am trying to install Exchange 2013 CU3 on Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Edition. This is New Server Forest build.

Forest Function Level and Domain functional Level is Windows Server 2008 R2

As part of this Fresh installation, I have tried to install CAS Server Role first on the server.

I have full admin (Schema,Entp, Domain) Previliges and installed MS recomended pre-requesities successfully.

Set the Powershell Execution policy as unrestricted.

But, When i run setup file using GUI option. I am getting the below error. I would like to know whether this is ignorable for installation or how to fix the issue.

Error:

Warning:
Task module "CmdletHealthCountersModule.Task_IterateCompleted" fails with exception "The type

initializer for 'Microsoft.Exchange.Flighting.RotationHash' threw an exception.". This module is skipped.

Task execution result should not be affected.

Warning:
Task module "CmdletIterationEventModule.LogCmdletIterationEvent" fails with exception "The type

Note: Server OS hardening policy has been applied in this server as per company security policy and Symantec A/V also installed in this server.

Moving Arbitration Mailbox growing size, taking hours

I am following the instructions in the deployment assistant to migrate an in-place Exchange 2010 setup to a new Exchange 2013 server.  I have reached the stage of migrating the arbitration mailbox from its original server to a database on the new one.  This process has now been running for 7 hours and as far as I can see the migrated mailbox size is larger than the database which used to house it.  The deployment assistant estimates this stage as requiring 10 minutes to complete.

Is there a problem and if so what can I do to resolve the issue?

Jetstress - too much IOPS!

And too high latency!

Hi all

I'm having "issues" with testing my storage solution with Jetstress 2013.

Setup is: VMware VM with 8 vCPUs, 24GB RAM and 500GB raw mapped device from VMAX box.

Device is thin provisioned on RAID 7+1 FC SCSI disk group.

Jetstress setup is as follows:

disk subsystem throughput test, thread autotuning, test for performance, enabled multihost and BDM

Thread Count150
Minimum Database Cache128,0 MB
Maximum Database Cache1024,0 MB
Insert Operations40%
Delete Operations20%
Replace Operations5%
Read Operations35%
Lazy Commits70%
Run Background Database MaintenanceTrue
Number of Copies per Database2

With this setup I'm getting about 4500IOPS, but 24msec and 14msec for write/read operations.

EMC guy suggest droping IOPS requirements and then I would get great response times... Suppose I would accomplish that with manually setting thread count? Is the thread count total or per database?

Can anybody explain what is going on? Front-end directors are not choked...

But when attempting to send an e-mail to public folder 's e-mail address It says #550 5.2.0 RESOLVER.PF.Invalid; misconfigured public folder mailbox ##. Have you got any idea ? Dear All

our company will update exchange 2007 to exchange 2013, on AD site we already update Forest functional level and Domain functinal level  to Windows 2003 ( can not up to windows 2008 yet because have some ad that run windows 2003 server ) but one thing that I'm not sure, between migration we can not full tranfer mailbox form exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 in one time, we need to migrate on night time manybe one day we can migrate only 100 user per night, my question is

1. which exchange 2013 server role that we will install first ( mailbox or CAS)

2. on migration time, can we let's user used exchange 2007 to main of OWA and SMTP or not? we need all user's mailbox tranfer to exchange 2013 complete first after that we will switch OWA and SMTP

Directory Sync Server setup

Hi,

We have 2 DC's ,2 CAS server ( in Windows NLB) ,2 mailbox servers in DAG environment. as Directory Synchronization server  is a mandatory equirement for hybrid deployment ... can we install it on one of the DC's or CAS server.

What are the steps to follow for this installation ?

As the directory sync server will sync all the users in onprem to O365 and viceversa ... will Microsoft charge for user sync in O365 ?

Thanks

new-moverequest this request operation sent to net.tcp://target.2013.fqdn/microsoft.exchange.mailboxreplicationservice did not receive a reply within the configured timeout

Hi ,

I am currently testing a cross forest migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013. i do not have trust between my forest but i did set up conditional forwarding in both the source and target environment.

The Mailbox replication service does not behave as expected when i submit a new move request.

the move request : New-MoveRequest -Identity "f2867850-5e88-4f97-9efb-0b867a1fdb4b" -BadItemLimit "10" -TargetDeliveryDomain "TargetDomain" -TargetDatabase "{cbc90e5e-6124-458c-8105-464bc27d26c1}" -RemoteCredential (Get-Credential "sourcecredential") -RemoteGlobalCatalog "FQDN of source GC" -RemoteLegacy:$true

the error : "The call to 'net.tcp://SERVERNAME/Microsoft.Exchange.MailboxReplicationService SERVERNAME (15.0.775.35 caps:3F)' timed out. Error details: This request operation sent to net.tcp://SERVERNAME/Microsoft.Exchange.MailboxReplicationService did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:01:00). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client."

I can ping both global catalog in the source environment and in the target from both side. nslookup and autodiscover is working as well.

MRS Proxy is enable on the exchange 2013 side and i have enable remote Powershell on both side.

i do not have any load balancer configure.

If anyone can point me in the right direction where to look it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks you

Exchange 2010 Mailbox Users Cannot Access 2013 Shared Mailboxes

Hi Guys & Girls,

I've a painful issue with my environment which is made up of 1 x 2010 CAS server with 1x 2010 Mailbox server and 1x 2013 CAS server with 1 x 2013 mailbox server.

The users who've yet to be migrated to 2013 and are still on the 2010 server are unable to open shared mailboxes which have already been migrated to 2013.

When trying to access shared mailboxes on the 2013 servers they received the following error:

a list of files changed for Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3

Hi.

Is there a list of files changed for Rollup 4?

After our RollUp installation, some files in the BIN directory still has the date of 2/5/2013 (SP3, no RollUp4), some has the date of 6/13/2013 (RollUp4)

Despite RollUp4 looks like to have been installed, Exchange Server still reports it's running "Version 14.3 (Build 123.4)"

Outlook Autodiscover Question

So i am trying to get users on the internet (external) to setup outlook using autodiscover. I have created dns cname for autodiscover.domain.tld and this appears to work fine. The question i have is what is outlook looking for on the searching foruser@domain.tld server:

This fails from external but works internal. No doubt it is looking on port 443? Is it looking for mail.domain.tld or something else? Looking in dns? Where does it get the info to know what to look for?

Exchange 2013 namespace

Hi,

I am about to migrate from 2010 to 2013, have installed 2013 single server (CAS,MBX) on a exchange2013.domain.com server. I configured all virtual directories and Outlook Anywhere internal and external urls to exchange.domain.com and the official certificate has been issued to exchange.domain.com and autodiscover.domain.com. Both exchange2013.domain.com and exchange.domain.com can be resolved by dns to same address, autodiscover.domain.com is not yet configured in dns.

ECP, OWA , mailbox creation and moves are working as supposed.

My question is regarding Outlook Anywhere, the only way I can connect from a client and Remote Connectivity Analyzer is by using exchange2013.domain.com as server address, but I want to use exchange.domain.com which is not bound to any hardware. I guess this will not be any problem after setting up the autodiscover in dns but I dont want to configure it before I know things are working as supposed. Shouldn't the client be able to find the user mailbox by the address configured as internal and external, that is exchange.domain.com?

Rpcping gives an 1722 error when trying with server and proxy exchange.domain.com but is ok when using server exchange2013.domain.com and proxy exchange.domain.com.

[migration] Using mailboxes in a different AD forest

$

Hi everyone,

I have been asked to move only the mailboxes from a different AD forest and over to our Exchange servers, but not to migrate their AD user and computer accounts over to us. We have a 2 way forest trust in place between us at the moment.

I would like to know if this is at all possible and what options I would have. We are aware that potentially people would need to login to outlook every time they open up outlook.

Scenario is
1) 2 way domain trust between forestA and forestB
2) Migrate mailboxes from forestA over to forestB
3) DO NOT migrate user or computer accounts in forestA
4) Users in forestA, when they open outlook it should autodiscover mailbox in forestB automatically or we set the outlook profile up manually. what ever works.
5) Shared mailboxes in forestB need to be accessible to users in forestA

I think one of the reasons why we cant migrate them out of forestA is because they are on a central AD for several contries and things are integrated into their CRM system. we are just trying to get the 2 companies to be able to work and share data together with minimum disruptions until a bigger migration move to a global AD structure and Office 365 in about 1 year.

Any advice on options would be really useful

Exchange 2013 Fresh Installation Continuously Failing

Hello,

I've exhausted everything I can find on the Internet so I thought I would ask here. I have tried Installing Exchange Server 2013, Exchange Server 2013 CU1 & Exchange Server 2013 CU2 on Freshly Installed Servers running as Primary DC's and also as a standalone server but it keeps failing with the error below -

Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
          install-MsiPackage `

" was run: "Installing product E:\Microsoft Exchange\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\agents\Hygiene\ASEntIRS.MSI failed. Fatal error during installation. Error code is 1603.".

I've created brand new domains with the same result, tried different ISO's absolutely everything I can think of. I've installed all pre-requisites as well.

List of Equipment available?

I've created some Resource mailboxes for Rooms and Equipment. The Room List is available when I add a Calendar in Outlook 2013, but I don't see an Equipment List. I can add an Equipment mailbox from the GAL, but I like the ease of adding from a List like the Room List. Is this something I need to enable in Exchange 2013?

Hello,

Today I make a fresh install of the windows server 2012 STD, installed differents roles et promote my server like Domain controller.

After, I installed MS Exchange 2013 STD on this server with following procedure https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14506.how-to-install-exchange-2013-on-windows-server-2012.aspx and I encountered the following error during setup progress (installation GUI).

Erreur :
L'erreur suivante est survenue lors de l'exécution de "$error.Clear();
          install-MsiPackage `
          -PackagePath ($RoleInstallPath + "TransportRoles\agents\Hygiene\ASEntIRS.MSI") `
          -LogFile ($RoleSetupLoggingPath + "\InstallASEntIRS.msilog") `
          -PropertyValues ("ALLUSERS=1") `
          -UpdatesDir $RoleUpdatesDir
        " : "Échec de l'installation du produit « D:\Donnees Entreprise\Messagerie\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\agents\Hygiene\ASEntIRS.MSI ». Erreur irrécupérable lors de l’installation. Le code d'erreur est 1603.".

I uninstall MS Exchange, demote DC and delete the folders created during exchange install and reboot.

After, I promote, reinstall exchange and I have a same error. I verify that the IP V6 is enable, I downloaded the source installation a second time (from MVLS), verify that my computer account is member of the exchange admin group...

Could you help me please because I have not got any solution?

Thanks and kind regards

Guillaume
